Maybe because it is spring that I have been honing in on G.O’s sexiness as of late. I mean, he has always been sexy in my opinion and I have not shied away from stating that fact here ~ and quite often. But lately it seems to be getting mentioned frequently in my Countdown posts. Hehehehe….I suppose as spring continues to bloom making way for steamy summer, I will be compelled to share G.O’s special kind of sexy. Most of the time, it is quiet and sneaks up on you. Sometimes though, it is full on blatant. That kind, (the second kind) is quite prevalent in my G.O One Shot offering for today.

I often wonder when G.O became MBLAQ’s official main vocal if he realized how much dancing he was going to be required to do. Choreography is part of the Korean pop idol package but he is primarily a romantic balladeer. As we all know, ballads do not really require choreography. I can only hope G.O surprised himself with how well he could . . . move. I pretty much view dancing as a sport, and much of MBLAQ’s choreography was quite athletic, especially in aggressively intense dance tracks like Run. Along with its searing vocals and powerful rap, Run was designed to be visually spectacular. And indeed it was when our gorgeous men in black brought their fierce martial arts themed performance to the K-Collection Fashion Concert stage back on 11 March 2012.

There is just something about 열쇠 [Key]. It seems to be one of those songs that digs deep into G.O and takes ahold of every fiber of emotion welling inside of him. From the Broken promotions to the final performances of the song into late 2014, you see it in his eyes when he sings it and without question, hear it in his voice. 열쇠 [Key] is a somber song filled with pleas to help ease the pain of a broken or closed heart and probably has one of the most poetic and touching choruses of any of MBLAQ’s songs. And yes, G.O is the commander of that chorus. Today’s Fan-Camming Friday moment is a G.O- focused cam taken during the performance of  the lyrically beautiful 열쇠 [Key] at MBLAQ’s July 2014 Summer Vacation in Tokyo.

It is Fan-Camming Friday and time to submerge ourselves in a moment of pure G.O joy. So I will travel back to the Men in Blaq Tour of 2011 where there was nothing but pure happiness pouring out of G.O in the energetic moments captured during One Better Day. To be at the Jamsil Arena that sweet summer evening in August 2011 must have been like soaring through the magic land of G.O charm, sweet smiles and unimaginable delight.

It is difficult getting back into the groove and routine of my every day life since returning from Seoul. Keeping up with my countdown posts however seems to be flowing ok. At least one thing is staying consistent. For some reason (probably because I have the heart of a five-year old child), I am really looking forward to hitting Day 400. Milestones. You know how I feel about those.~^^ Even though there will be over 300 days remaining at that point, I still find myself full of excitement as we get closer to discharge. Likewise, every moment I get to sit down and write about this amazing young man makes me happy. Today (as you can see) is a One Shot day. It is also time for a one shot .gif. Lately, I have been longing for Mirror ~ the song, performances, just anything Mirror-related. To quench a little bit of that thirst, I will share a few short G.O .gifs from one of the many performances of MBLAQ’s exquisite and haunting title song.

I am sure all A+ can agree that MBLAQ’s gentle pop song homage to their fans, You’re My + is one of their best, and for various reasons. For me, it is one of those MBLAQ songs where I can hear an audible smile, as it were, in G.O’s voice while he sings. Moreover, in this song, G.O gets plenty of sing time and when that happens, I always rank it among my favorite group songs. You’re My + is a good choice then to place it firmly in the Vocal Virtuosity category. Yes. And even though I am certain they have performed the song live often, I am choosing a particularly poignant live performance to showcase it: the first stage as a trio at Omiya back in June 2015.

Over the past few days I have been giving lots and lots of love to G.O’s past involvement with the neo-soul R&B trio, Tykeys. It is part of his past that I feel was an incredible stepping stone to get him where he is today and not just musically. I think G.O’s time spent with Baek Soo Kyung and Kim Hyun Jung gave him experience and direction that supported and indeed fueled his creativity. He learned about synergy and collaboration which I believe every artist needs, and which he has become keenly adept at. My G.O One Shot for today is a little homage to G.O’s Tykeys stage presence, in .gif form.

It is difficult to come by definitive and clear facts regarding everything there is to know about Tykeys. And I suppose that is all well and fine because what we do have in way of pictures and video prove to me that they were an incredibly talented neo-soul R&B sensation that simply did not get the recognition they deserved. However bad the situation was when things ended for the group, it does not take away from the fact that they gave us some incredible music in one amazing album. For this 352nd day of G.O’s service, (and Fan-Camming Friday day), I share a moment of solo work from those early days. I honestly do not believe I could have envisioned a better special stage than the one G.O was given during MBLAQ’s Men In Blaq concert, back in August 2011. From a visual perspective when I watch it, my first thought is always . . . my god, a star was so being born at that moment. The romantic stage backdrop, the soft lights, the elevated platform and G.O’s angelic voice were all breathtaking. G.O’s stage during that tour featured his first digital single, 내 꿈에서라도 [Even In My Dreams], and is the perfect frame and foundation for today’s Vocal Virtuosity moment on this 339th day of our amazing main vocal’s service.
