It has been a long time since I have shared any kind of fan cam of a press-oriented nature. So why not today, this second-to-last Fan-Camming Friday of the countdown? From the 2012 Asia Model Festival Awards, G.O and his MBLAQ brothers spent some time at the photo wall being captured in all of their handsome glory. With G.O’s russet locks pushed up off of his forehead he was a shimmering vision in black that evening and fortunately for us, there is some cam that captured that vision.

When isn’t Y a sexy feast to behold? Most always never. It has always been one of MBLAQ’s most provocative songs with an equally intense performance when brought to the stage. So when MBLAQ decided to include it in their performance repertoire at the 4 June 2013 Sexy Beat showcase, I think it pretty much left fans unhinged. Maybe it was all of the black leather and sheer components of their stage wear. Oh my . . . sexy beat certainly lived up to its name. Let’s not hesitate a moment longer and get to the Friday Fan-Camming offering for the day.

Wow, I had not realized that for a good four months both G.O and Joon held a steady MC gig on MNET’s M Countdown back in 2010. I recall them doing it, but did not realize it was that long. I have to admit that my M Countdown watching days started with Broken so, yeah, I was completely unaware that in addition to performing on the show, they also occasionally MC-ed it as well. On 25 March, G.O was on MC duty and masternim A Lucky Day happened to be in attendance and captured a series of lovely photographs of the magnificent and gregarious MC.

I wanted today to be another Vocal Virtuosity day after hearing One recently. Even though it is a MBLAQ group effort, Mr. Main Vocal proves predominant throughout the song. As you know, when that happens, I like to bring it to the forefront here on the countdown because as much as I adore all of MBLAQ’s music, when my lovely bias takes the vocal helm in a song, it rapidly moves up my fave list. I forgot how feel good One is and how crystalline and powerful G.O’s vocals are throughout the song. Even though I have been diligently searching, I could not find an actual live version or performance. If any of you are aware, please post a link to in the comments section. I did recall however the 13 September 2011 KBS broadcast of The Lord of Magic show wherein our fab five performed a wonderful and remarkably sweet LED light show using One as a backdrop music to the performance.

If I had my choice of the kind of variety programs I would most prefer seeing G.O grace, it would have to be those that are focused on utilizing his voice, intelligence and humor. His voice is a given. Any time G.O is given the opportunity to sing off the stage is going to thrill me just as much as if he is on the stage. Letting the man use his wit and intelligence pushes his attractiveness quotient up exponentially. G.O’s humor will accompany him each and every time, no matter what the forum, this is true. But those shows that have an eye towards thoughtful subject matter that call upon knowledge say, over opinion . . . well, I love to watch G.O exercise his mind power. When he and Joon guest MC-ed on KBS2 TV’s 위기탈출 넘버원 [Crisis Escape No. 1], we got to see G.O tap into his reasoning and knowledge bank a little, and do so with charm and humor.

Let me just cut to the chase for this Fan-Camming Friday by saying that anytime a fan cam features an accidental flash of otherwise covered up skin and a wink, along with outstanding vocals and provocative choreography, it easily reaches that gold standard of fan camming. The tragic story of William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet is timeless. Adapted in so many ways over the years since it first graced 16th century playhouses to the present, it seems everyone knows the story of the two ill-fated teenage lovers. It is my all time favorite Shakespearean play and I love it in every form, and that may even include a cheeky playful animated version with garden gnomes! This post should probably be all about Lee Joon as he was the one who voiced the animated gnome, Gnomeo, in the Korean version of Disney’s Gnomeo & Juliet. But….I only have eyes for one particular romeo who was in attendance at the special premiere of the film back in April 2011.

Sometimes I have to admit that Korean variety programming is a little bit different, but generally entertaining especially if it gives our fave artists more public exposure. It also adds to the many ways our beloved biases give back to fans. Yes, appearing on a variety program is another form of fan service, in my opinion. When G.O and Lee Joon joined the panel of celebs willing to have their dental health tested on KBS World TV’s 비타민 [Vitamin], my first thought was…okay, this is kind of weird but, it turned out to be surprisingly informative. The big bonus (of course) was watching a show that exposes more of G.O’s amenable, polite, cute and adorable personality. That’s going to be a ratings win right there for me.

Merry G.O Christmas!!! It is Day 312 of G.O’s service and Christmas Day. This is the first of two Christamases we will celebrate while G.O is serving and it is still amazing to me that soon he will complete his first year. One Christmas down . . . one more to go! Just something very light and simple today, a flashback to Christmas 2009, Sukira Red Christmas, and a few sweet captures of our darling main vocal.

This fan-camming moment is actually a sequel to Day 303 where I visited an early G.O-focused fan cam moment from the 24 December 2009 TBS Christmas Special.
