The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 701

aavZRO

Each one of us has our own way to navigate and express emotion. Some are screamers while others are silent. Some are weepy while others are stoic. Then there are the lucky ones who are able to express emotion through art. I do not know where G.O would fall on the spectrum were he not an artist. But I do think he most readily has used music to reveal the emotions of his heart be they emotions that have expressed happiness or those that have been wrought with heartbreak.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 695

I think it is a good day to go wild, don’t you? 2012 was one very bountiful year. So much MBLAQ goodness including the sub-unit collaboration of G.O and Mir. Usually prone to high jinks and mischief, our wild pair traded in their playful images with some in-you-face swag during the Blaq% Asia Tour that year with their provocative single, Wild and it is my choice for this Fan-Camming Friday day.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 691

I know that when it comes to 낙서 [Scribble], G.O does not have very much vocal time. In fact, he barely has any and often shares vocal time in the song with Seungho. But what he does for the song is give it richness. His voice is the seasoning that flavors and enhances the emotion of the song. In the moments we do get to hear the honey of G.O’s voice, we are once again reminded of his virtuosity and that is why I will always place 낙서 [Scribble] among all other Vocal Virtuosity moments here on the countdown.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 690

If he captures you in his gaze, you can rest assured there will be no defense adequate enough to fight and/or escape the magnetic pull of the charismatic aura that oozes from and surrounds G.O. The early captures from fans A Lucky Day  and Letsgoinho are a true testament to this fact. Each could teach a course on how to weather the G.O gaze as they certainly have been caught in the direct line of his fiery stare, all to my absolute delight. For when G.O locks upon a camera’s lens, the photographer becomes a conduit for the fans who then get to experience what it feels like to lock eyes with him. It has been a while since I had a Windows To Your Soul ~ The G.O Eye Connect post on the countdown, so I am ready for the challenge. And, the steady cam of letsgoinho combined with the raw intensity of 전쟁이야 [This Is War] from the 17 January 2012 Beautiful Concert is the perfect choice for the 690th day of G.O’s service.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 681

I admit to having bouts of sentimentality, and there have been plenty throughout this countdown. I find myself today reminiscing over G.O’s last stage before he entered the army. It seems as if the culmination of his days of service and the momentum towards completion are filling me with a mixture of both nostalgia and eager anticipation. His last stage was a solo stage and his first stage following discharge may also turn out be a solo stage. See how this renders me simultaneously sentimental and excited?! I will let my nostalgia then carry us back on this Fan-Camming Friday to that last stage in February 2016 [I.Callist Idol Vocal Concert] with G.O’s moving performance of 사랑은 차가운 유혹 [Love Is A Cold Temptation].

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 680

As I sat down to contemplate the next installment of The ABC’s of G.O, I discovered the letter U to be surprisingly adjective-friendly but am settling on one that is most pertinent given the fact that G.O has been away from the music and entertainment scene for nearly two years now. I have done my very best here over these past 680 days to join in the plight of making and keeping G.O . . . unforgettable.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 674

My love affair with 2012 continues. And since I am not adverse to short clips, snippets and soundbites where G.O is concerned, I am fully satisfied with my choice for today’s Fan-Camming Friday even though it clocks in at under a minute. You know my creed: Any time spent watching and/or listening to G.O is time well-spent, no matter how long or short. So back to May 2012 then when MBLAQ performed at the Kyunghee Cyber University Festival and a little focused cam during the closing moments of Oh Yeah.
