It’s official!!! Donghun has under 100 days remaining in his military service! Since it has been a minute since our last DH Fan-artastic offering, I decided it would be nice to showcase a little Donghun fan art for this countdown day. German artist, Quilianna created a wonderful rendition of DH sipping a glass of wine a la the Under Cover era, and it is simply intoxicating.
Day 400!! Can you see the light at the end of the tunnel yet? It seems to be getting brighter and brighter, right? For this milestone I thought we might enjoy some fan art. This Fan-Artastic selection comes to us all the way from Indonesia and I think it is so very, very cool. Putri Sabrina Ramadezky imagined Donghun in a playing card setting where she aptly drew him as the Ace of Hearts. What I absolutely love about her rendition is the medieval, Game of Thrones look she gave our regal main vocal.
All milestones along this countdown journey are important but none are more than a birthday!! On this Day 159 of Waiting For Donghun, we celebrate one of two birthdays Donghun will have during the course of his service. I do not think it will thwart celebrations, to be honest, but I will definitely miss the midnight VLive group celebrations that often come with an A.C.E member birthday. For this stop along the way, I want to share a celebratory DH Fan-Artastic work from Italian artist, Erika, who partnered with A.C.E Global back in 2018 to create a banner for Donghun’s birthday. Even though it celebrates a past birthday, it is a delightful art piece all the same.
Today another piece of Donghun fan art that was sent out into the world prior to A.C.E’s debut. In fact, Polish artist, Alitaya, drew this piece in honor of Donghun’s birthday in February 2017. A.C.E was about three months away from their official debut and here comes Alitaya with extraordinary prescience, capturing the essence of Donghun adrift in song.
There is something really sweet about the fan art I am going to share for this DH Fan-Artastic day. Back in 2017, French artist, YuiKubi was just 14 years old when she joined the Amino Apps community and posted her first piece of fan art. That fan art was of Donghun. She is an original Choice as she posted her piece on July 17, 2017 which was two short months after A.C.E debuted.
What do you say about some extra swag for today’s edition of DH Fan-Artastic? I stumbled across artist Vansiee on Twitter and immediately fell in love with her work and particularly her Donghun art – but, I am rather biased you know. Come check out her take on Donghun’s rocker sauce, swagger with a side of vampire.
I thought I would drop a little DH fan art today. Something from the Under Cover era from Philippines digital artist, Violetwister. Under Cover is an aggressive track that really showcases the innate strength of A.C.E as vocalists, rappers and dancers. Even so, Violetwister brings a soft touch to our powerful main vocal with her Under Cover inspired art.
I can conceivably consider every one of these countdown posts an ‘art break’ because I basically consider Donghun a work of art all unto himself, and a multi-faceted one at that. However, DH Fan-Artastic is all about those who are inspired to draw, sketch or paint Donghun’s image capturing a moment that could encompass an element of his personality, a mood or how he was particularly styled for a comeback. Ah, yes, the comeback concept. A.C.E has had some truly remarkable and memorable ones. I admit I am kind of stuck in the Siren:Dawn era and that is where our fan art lands today.
I love fan art. It’s true, I am not even remotely artistically inclined when it comes to drawing, sketching, painting and the like. But it is also true that I do have a huge appreciation for the visual arts. While I am arguably jealous of those who are able to draw, sketch and paint beautiful renditions of their favorite artists, I am always inclined to share their work when and where I can. This little countdown is the perfect place to showcase wonderful and creative fans and their Donghun fan art.
