Part of idol culture is to periodically make appearances at award shows, movie or television drama premiers, press conferences and the occasional product or service launch party. So in addition to being able to see your bias on the stage or listen to him (or her) via the magic of digital recording, seeing them out and about at various events gives a added boost of excitement, and usually some pictures and potentially some video footage.
I guess you can call me sentimental. Two years ago today I experienced my very first MWave online meet and greet with MBLAQ. I was working long hours in New Orleans that week for my job, and did not think I would be able to stay awake long enough to watch the show. Scheduled at a decent 2:00 PM KST hour, that translated to midnight my time. But the moment I saw G.O with his hair freshly sheared, goatee-d in a fedora wearing a t-shirt with the goddess Venus de Milo on the front of it (a definite shout out to his goddesses), I was wide awake and ready to watch the fun begin.
For Day 93, I said to myself: Ok, I challenge you, Michele. Pick a random episode from Sesame Player, watch it, and find one thing in that episode to write about for Day 93 of G.O’s service. I wanted something short, sweet and silly. I found such a moment in Episode 11.^^
By 2011 and well into their second full year as a group, MBLAQ was indelibly embraced (and rightfully so) by Japan; their JA+ fandom strong and growing. They were gaining so much popularity and love in Japan that Odina Magazine featured them not once, not twice, but three times in 2011. One year, three cover stories. Too much……wait, no, there can never ever be too much G.O!!
Greetings! The nominating period for the Merry MBLAQ Christmas Package event has now closed! A million thank yous to all who have sent in nominations. It exceeded my expectations. I was very touched by all of the beautiful thoughts and words shared, and especially the love. I am so proud to be a part of this fandom and of the camaraderie between us all. More importantly, however, is the love and support we all share for our beloved MBLAQ, Lee Joon and Cheondung.
As a reminder, my merry elves and I will take the next week to deliberate over who will receive the packages. I can assure you it will not be an easy task as there were many nominations, all of them special and deserving! On November 23rd, I will post the names of the recipients and will be in touch with either them, or their nominators. Finally, during the week of December 1st, the packages will be sent out.
Thank you again to all who participated!
To get into the holiday spirit, let’s revisit the delightful White Forever ~~~ ahhh, these five beautiful angels!
Happy Holidays, my lovelies!♥

So many questions. So few answers. But, in one 10-minute excerpt on Arirang TV’s, Pops in Seoul last week, my articulate and intelligent bias finally brings some closure regarding the departure of Lee Joon and Cheondung from MBLAQ, and also manages to shamelessly plug his song on the new album. Ok yeah, it was a rough autumn and a rather excruciating winter. Coupled with that, the prolonged hibernation of our beloved three MBLAQ teddy bears hasn’t helped matters much either. Yet as we enter spring, it seems they have begun to push themselves through the soil of those darker days and are starting to re-blossom as a music-making trio. With news of a new album in the works, hope does indeed spring eternal.
I had a plan. It was a good plan. I had the goods. They were nice goods. And, I had a bias (G.O) ready to celebrate a birthday on November 6th. Having given Federal Express a good chunk of my hard-earned change via my MBLAQ Love Package campaign, I figured they would be the best bet to get my bias his birthday gifts, and do so well in advance of the actual celebration day. Best laid plans, right? It seems Fedex along with the Universe (and the Suwon Lotte Department Store) had something else in mind. When the birthday box failed to pass through customs in Seoul and was returned to me, it seemed the only way that darling man was going to receive his gift from my Byung Hee World blog partner, Nelly (MyMyooz) and I, was if I would deliver it to him myself.
There are many reasons for a native Chicagoan to dislike (and often detest and incessantly complain about) the most brutal of all seasons, winter. Winter often denotes the transition of everything in nature that was once warm, light, lush, in bloom and alive into something that is cold, brittle, barren and dying. Winter is a time of hibernation, and also a time to leave.
When I discovered that the new MBLAQ mini album being released on November 25th was to be entitled Winter and was to be an album of ballads, my heart felt heavy and somewhat sad. At the same time, however, hearing that this album would feature self-composed songs by the men, and G.O would be producing, I immediately became impatient to hear it. Now, after having it on repeat and listening to it non-stop, I have only one complaint: there are simply not enough songs.
The last two weeks have been an emotional roller coaster of sorts for A+ with news swirling around about the fate and future of MBLAQ. Unauthorized (seemingly so) releases of information stating that Lee Joon (Lee Chang Sun) and Thunder (Park Sang Hyun) were not renewing their respective contracts with J Tune and, in essence, leaving the group, had fans across the globe held in disbelief that this could be happening to our beloved MBLAQ. Grief and sadness flooded social media. How could this be happening….and just two short days prior to MBLAQ’s 5th anniversary.
