Because I essentially have the heart of a child and own a bit of a playful nature myself, I cannot help but bring a new (and cheeky) sub-category 434 days into the Countdown. Outside of celebrating G.O each and every day of his service, one of my favorite parts of this countdown journey has been coming up with sub-categories to help guide me. Some of those categories are perhaps somewhat serious while others are a bit more quirky and (hopefully) fun. This latest idea came to me suddenly and falls directly into the ‘fun‘ side of the spectrum. I am calling it The ABC’s of G.O. My goal is to make my way through the alphabet, choosing a word for each letter that I believe describes G.O. I will try to veer from the obvious and will dig deep into my Thesaurus. It may prove to be challenging, but I am ready. Beginning at the beginning today with the letter A.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 415

There is just something about 열쇠 [Key]. It seems to be one of those songs that digs deep into G.O and takes ahold of every fiber of emotion welling inside of him. From the Broken promotions to the final performances of the song into late 2014, you see it in his eyes when he sings it and without question, hear it in his voice. 열쇠 [Key] is a somber song filled with pleas to help ease the pain of a broken or closed heart and probably has one of the most poetic and touching choruses of any of MBLAQ’s songs. And yes, G.O is the commander of that chorus. Today’s Fan-Camming Friday moment is a G.O- focused cam taken during the performance of  the lyrically beautiful 열쇠 [Key] at MBLAQ’s July 2014 Summer Vacation in Tokyo.

I only have one question for those fans who had the honor and privilege of getting to one (or more) of MBLAQ concerts during their Blaq% Tour in 2012: How wild was Wild? Every fancam I have viewed (and I am certain I have not seen all of them) seems to indicate G.O and Mir’s live performance of their raucous dance track was every bit as electrifying and, yes…sexy as the provocative lyrics suggest it could, would and should be. Since it is Friday, I think we should revisit a Wild fan cam moment from the tour where you will not only be reminded of G.O’s astounding vocals, but also get a taste of that simmering sexy he lets come out to play in the performance. I love everything about Mirror. It is a unique and tragically beautiful song that our amazing trio sunk every bit of emotion into when they introduced it to us in June 2015. And although I have not known him for very long, nor could I be so bold to assume I know his heart, what I think I can surmise adequately about G.O is that he will never shy away from revealing emotion. In my opinion, the veil of sadness that enveloped him throughout the Mirror promotions was not cathartic nor healing. It was, however, intense and emotional. On 11 June 2015, before the men of MBLAQ brought Mirror to the M Countdown stage, MNet captured G.O in a gorgeous focused fancam.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 202

When I sat down to write this post, it was midnight and I had had a glass of wine. For those reasons (and probably others) I found G.O’s saunter through Gimpo Airport on 4 December 2011 rather sensuous. Maybe it was the beanie/hoodie combination with the dark glasses. Or perhaps it was just the way he seemed to be gliding as he walked. Or, how about the soft smile on his perfect lips? Whatever the reason, G.O makes a simple walk through the airport a seismic event for the senses and the perfect choice for a Fan-Camming day here on the blog.

The beauty of deciding to let G.O pretty much commandeer my blog for the length of his military service (and I suspect well beyond), is that I have had the pleasure of connecting with many of his dedicated and long-time fans. Debut fans are a wealth of knowledge which have been a godsend to me in that their MBLAQ-lopedic minds continue to introduce and re-introduce G.O to me as if I am meeting him for the very first time, over and over. It’s the best kind of Groundhog’s Day!!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 182

When I made the commitment to write a post every day commemorating each day served of G.O military service, in theory it did not seem like it would be an arduous task. But I discovered that it has required an inordinate amount of discipline I was not even aware I had. As I write, I learn more about him and, in the wake of that, have learned a lot about myself. It has been a fantastic journey so far and I have to tell you, their is absolutely no downside. Getting to write about this talented young man is a privilege. Oh, and I get to see and/or hear him every day. Bonus! My Fan-Camming day posts are spaced ten days apart (if you haven’t noticed) which means today is a Fan-Camming day and bcause I have such a crush on A Lucky Day’s work, I will share her G.O-focused cam (and pictures) from the Men In Blaq show on 20 August 2011. Get ready for some G.O charm!

While it is every fan’s dream to see their favorite group perform live in some capacity, the fan sign is what takes everything to the next level. Indeed those brief and special moments in a concert venue where you are close enough to grab the attention of your bias for a wave, high-five or even a selca are plausible if you are fortunate enough to have a spot near to the stage. The fan sign, however, guarantees that one-on-one moment with your favorite group and even more importantly, your bias.
