The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 642

Wow, I had not realized that for a good four months both G.O and Joon held a steady MC gig on MNET’s M Countdown back in 2010. I recall them doing it, but did not realize it was that long. I have to admit that my M Countdown watching days started with Broken so, yeah, I was completely unaware that in addition to performing on the show, they also occasionally MC-ed it as well. On 25 March, G.O was on MC duty and masternim A Lucky Day happened to be in attendance and captured a series of lovely photographs of the magnificent and gregarious MC.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 641

For my One Shot today, a little bit of the art and poetry of Mona Lisa. It is no matter that Mona Lisa is now over six years old. I never tire of listening to it, in either of its Korean or Japanese incarnations. It is one of those early MBLAQ songs that has held up year after year and is as equally provocative visually as it is vocally. I also never tire of watching performance after performance of the song. Usually with One Shots I alternate between picture and .gif. Today, I felt like both.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 639

I have to be honest. I am finding it increasingly difficult to calm my excitement and focus now that we are less than 100 days from discharge, especially after G.O’s recent chat with his G.Oddesses on 7 November. So many thoughts and emotions are crowding my brain, and my heart. Sometimes it is overwhelming. I find myself wondering about G.O’s future. And as much as I have been enjoying these past 639 days reminiscing, I am very ready for the next movement in the concerto of G.O’s life and career. Celebrating him each day has been the highlight of my last (almost) two years and will only be bested by the opportunity to be able to experience all of the new and exciting music, events and activities yet to come. But as we still have some time, I will pull the proverbial reins in on myself, and steer this countdown carriage back to 11 October 2013 for some focused Smoky Girl  cam of the ever debonair and disarmingly handsome G.O during MBLAQ’s performance at the IEF Seongnam International Game Festival Opening Ceremony.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 637

Any fan who has had the opportunity to meet his or her bias in person all walk away with amazing and adventurous stories to tell to be sure. Those moments become committed and embedded to memory, probably for a lifetime. And yes, those moments are often relived over and over. It is natural and understandable. I would have to guess that over the course of his ten plus years of fan appreciation, G.O has left many hearts marked with memories of his sweet and gracious fan service. I recently came across an early fan account and thought it would serve as a wonderful example of G.O’s Fabled Fan Service.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 636

I have only two problems with my Vocal Virtuosity selection for today and they are: (1) it is not the full song and (2) the entertainment news reporter had the gall to talk over the pure angelic vocals of our gentle troubadour. Brief and interfered with it as it may be, it is perhaps the only live recording (that I have come across anyway) of G.O singing one of his two solo songs from the magnificent Ty Project No. 1 album, 내가 아니라도 [Even Though It’s Not Me]. Pure heaven nonetheless.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 635

There are some days when a One Shot turns into a three shot because the moderator and author here (me) has no self control or, in her defense, cannot with good conscience decide upon whether one picture is better than the other in a series. This is one of those days.  So today, I will not allow her to choose and let her offer three gorgeous captures from the May 2011 Japanese KBS World Guide as seen through the lens of Love Letter Studio’s Han Seung Hoon.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 634

Wow…and double wow! G.O discovered Instagram Live and none of us will be the same again! Yes, late, late Saturday night, 11 November (and into the wee hours of Sunday), G.O all cozied up in his recording studio, hit the IG “Live” and for a little over six and a half minutes, shared some time with his followers. I had a feeling he would begin amping things up now that he has less than 100 days of service remaining, but I wasn’t expecting this!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 632

I know I cannot possibly be the only one of G.O’s fans who, in addition to love hearing him sing, finds his speaking voice equally charming and soothing. Lately, I have been taking a different approach to learning Korean. Instead of initially pouring over a textbook, I have decided to log hours of just listening. Remember the Sweet Music Box broadcast on SBS radio G.O did back in 2010 with Jung Go Eun? Those have been my constant listening skills teaching companion this past month. It is helping but since I really love the tone and timbre of G.O’s voice, I get easily distracted from the task at hand. Nevertheless, learning this way is actually a pleasurable experience. But what does this have to do with anything? Well, it is Fan-Camming Friday and I decided upon a cam from the 15 April 2012 Daejeon fan sign where fans were regaled with one of G.O’s cheeky discussions.
