Today I felt like a fun, frolicking kind of fan-cam for Fan-Camming Friday. Now with the new year in full swing and the days remaining in G.O’s military service growing less and less, I cannot help but keep the mood here lively and uplifted. As you know I joined the fandom late and lost out on experiencing a lot of the interactions MBLAQ had with other groups that had debuted in and around the time they did. Even though I am not well-versed in K-pop history, I think it is safe to say that there was a camaraderie between the groups then that is not nearly as prevalent in the third generation idols of today. But, I could be wrong since I admit that I do not follow nor do I have any interest in the third generation. Fortunately, I can still visit that second gen camaraderie and share a little bit of it today from the Idol Sport Competition of January 2011 featuring our playful main vocal with SHINee’s leader, Onew.

I needed a moment to drink it all in. And then I needed a moment to let the news swirling around on New Year’s Day settle in that my beloved bias was dating. More importantly, I needed G.O himself to confirm the reports. I told myself I would not blog about it, nor share any news about it on the G.O International Fan Club site unless or until G.O himself confirmed what the press was saying: that he was and has been for months, dating actress Choi Ye Seul. And, he did. Yes, my forthright and blissfully happy bias confirmed the news on 2 January 2018 with a selca and message to his fans.

Ever since acquainting myself with G.O and learning a little bit about his artistic journey, I have been on a quest to find as many copies of Tykeys’ Ty Project No. 1, literally the first full studio album he recorded (to my knowledge any way). When I find a copy, I buy it. This past week, I found another copy so that always seems to ignite my desire to revisit Tykeys’ performances and it occurred to me that 연상연하 [Old & Young], one of the two singles released from the album was a perfect candidate for a Vocal Virtuosity moment. Specifically, the live performance from the Tykeys showcase way back in February or March 2007. The studio version is great. G.O has made the end of 2017 sweet and playful, and the beginning of 2018 serene and beautiful with his Instagram updates on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. He further took some time to chat with fans dispelling a little bit more information regarding his upcoming fan meeting. Too much goodness packed in two days. So how about we just enjoy our gorgeous god of communication’s new year’s offerings one more time for this 685th day of his service.

Happy New Year!!!

Welcome 2018!!! We have been waiting for you. You have been on our minds for the past two years and we could not be happier to see you. This is it, G.Oddesses ~ we are one month and sixteen days from G.O’s military discharge. There was a time when 2018 seemed so distant, and even unreachable! But look . . . here we are! Finally! I have to admit that this past year has moved quickly and I think part of it is because of G.O’s consistent updates throughout the year. He has made the wait bearable while at the same time has created incredible excitement and anticipation for his return. We are literally almost there. Are you excited!? Happy New Year everyone! May it be filled with health, happiness, love and lots of G.O!!~😘

Today seems like another good day for a quick G.O Dance Break. In fact, I think I may see a pattern here as it is another Saturday dance break moment. Perhaps Saturday dance breaks should be the norm here on the countdown going forward in order to encourage us to always make the best of our weekends! I admit to having bouts of sentimentality, and there have been plenty throughout this countdown. I find myself today reminiscing over G.O’s last stage before he entered the army. It seems as if the culmination of his days of service and the momentum towards completion are filling me with a mixture of both nostalgia and eager anticipation. His last stage was a solo stage and his first stage following discharge may also turn out be a solo stage. See how this renders me simultaneously sentimental and excited?! I will let my nostalgia then carry us back on this Fan-Camming Friday to that last stage in February 2016 [I.Callist Idol Vocal Concert] with G.O’s moving performance of 사랑은 차가운 유혹 [Love Is A Cold Temptation].

As I sat down to contemplate the next installment of The ABC’s of G.O, I discovered the letter U to be surprisingly adjective-friendly but am settling on one that is most pertinent given the fact that G.O has been away from the music and entertainment scene for nearly two years now. I have done my very best here over these past 680 days to join in the plight of making and keeping G.O . . . unforgettable.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 679

I have a question for you. Do you think you have the patience and stamina to hear me declare how amazing, talented and wonderful G.O is for 52 more days? This countdown series has been a long haul and frankly, I cannot even believe that I have posted something daily now for 679 days (counting this one, of course). As I sat down to write today, I really started to wonder if my friends who have been visiting the blog throughout the countdown have had their fill and/or are bored. I mean it has already been 678 days of me telling you that which you already know, right? But, I hope you will humor me for just a little bit longer as we are literally in the home stretch. Today I give you something simple. Something I want to call Through Fan Eyes which is really nothing groundbreaking or new since the bulk of what I have shared here has been my adoration of G.O as given through various pictures, videos and the like of his fans. I love fan-made videos honoring the beauty and talent of G.O and so I give you a little of that today from the Samsung Display Union Festival back on 6 May 2013.
