A little change going forward with the Waiting For Donghun countdown series. I have been giving this a lot of thought over these past few days and even though it was kind of a difficult decision to make, it feels like the right thing to do.

Well . . . Donghun strikes again! Updating, updating, updating . . . is he even away?? If I have to be honest, I think he is setting a tough precedent here. I mean, this early in his service, he is updating so often that fans will invariably expect it to continue. Nevertheless, he is keeping me on my toes and since this is his first personal, or unique to him only, social media account, he may just be just enjoying this little bit of freedom and control over something that is specifically his.

헐 . . . I am not going to lie, it is getting really difficult to keep up with Donghun’s Instagram updates! I am not complaining as I do LOVE that he is updating so frequently. But. The difficult part is keeping things organized and timely for this countdown. So, Mr. Lee is certainly challenging my ability to maintain order here — but then, this challenge is worth the effort. Again, while I was sleeping and had Day 73 all wrapped up and ready to post, Donghun took to his Instagram account and gifted us an update.

Donghun took to his Instagram account back on November 30 and it was to give a shout out to a fellow Mixnine contestant. The one thing I have learned about the K-pop industry is that regardless of how fandoms want to believe there is animosities between groups and idols, current and former, the fact of the matter is, these kids often come up through the ranks together, coalesce and create lifelong bonds and friendships. I personally love it when my Korean music realms intertwine within themselves. Such is the case with Donghun’s IG Story promotion of Løgin’s upcoming digital release, Nanibami.

Our Choice cups continue to runneth over! I went to sleep, woke up to find that our thoughtful Mr. Lee took to his Instagram account for a second day in a row, serving up a fresh new seven shots all of himself save one. I wonder if he will continue this update method going forward; you know, lucky number seven? It is overwhelming to be sure, but I am not complaining. In fact, it almost feels like he is not away as he is staying very much with us in these early days of his service.

This past week here in the United States we celebrated our Thanksgiving holiday. A time throughout history to give thanks for one’s blessings and also to enjoy a feast to celebrate a harvest. For me, I am giving additional thanks to Mr. Lee for bombarding us with a myriad of IG updates. Although this does appear to be somewhat of a shallow offering of thanks, I am equally thankful that Donghun seems to have settled into this public service duties insofar as to pause and miss his Choice.

I knew our patience would be rewarded. On the eve of his 60th day of service, our beloved main vocal updated his Instagram account. What is so nice about public service is the tiny bit of leniency enlistees get when it comes to using their SNS accounts. True, Donghun can’t be posting those multiple selcas on the various A.C.E SNS accounts, but his personal one is where he can quietly stay in touch. On November 20, he updated with a series of pictures which included ones of himself.

Not sure if you are aware, but Mr. Lee opened up a personal Instagram account prior to heading off to the military. In fact, both he and Wow both did. Since both are going to serve as public servants during their military duty, creating those accounts was a fantastic idea as they will have some leniency in using social media as they serve, but in a very limited capacity. This little sub-series will pop up over the course of the countdown if and when Donghun updates his IG account. Before he left, he did christened the newly minted account with two updates.
