It’s Day 300 and we are almost half way there! To celebrate this 300th day, I want to turn back the clock to the Under Cover Tour and see a little bit of it through Donghun’s eyes. In June 2019, A.C.E brought their Under Cover Tour to Canada. Oh how I would have loved to see A.C.E in Canada, especially Montreal. I have never been to Montreal but it would have been super special because from what I have been reading, A.C.E was the first K-pop group to hold a concert in Montreal. That’s a big deal, in my opinion. The focus of this post is not on the show, however. No, I want to share Donghun’s short vlog that focuses on the group’s arrival into Montreal and then on to Toronto, and his cute way of documenting being in the fresh air of Canada under beautiful blue skies.

Waiting For Donghun ~ A.C.E 5th Anniversary (Day 243)
We have reached another milestone in the Waiting For Donghun countdown and, in this instance, a rather auspicious day for both A.C.E and Choice. It is Day 243 but today also marks A.C.E’s fifth anniversary. We celebrate with joy, but do so somberly as four of our amazing five are currently on hiatus serving their country. For some reason, it feels right to celebrate with the artistic and moving Jindo Arirang (Prehistory). If you are even a fraction of the history nerd I am, you are no doubt fascinated by A.C.E’s take on this much revered and historically rich and moving Korean folk song.
Waiting For Donghun ~ Celebrating Under 400 Days!! (Day 240)
You wouldn’t mind if I was a little sneaky with today’s DH One Shot, would you? Because . . . it is another milestone day and I am feeling happy and cheeky! Donghun officially has UNDER 400 DAYS remaining in his service!! And…well, I kind of felt like something playful. I came across a GIF that is indeed playful, only Donghun is not alone. It just so happens that little bias wrecker of a maknae of mine joins him in this GIF and I guess it is just my sneaky way of getting two for the price of one today . . . hehe. Trust me, the cute is worth it, especially if you have a soft spot for Chan which is easily had even if he is not your A.C.E bias. He is without question the A.C.E mood maker and resident happy pill and it is well-documented that even our eldest, Mr. Lee, has a super soft spot for this cheeky maknae. So, if you don’t mind, humor me.
On My Playlist ~ Juice [MCND]
The five firecrackers of MCND just wrapped up their first European tour and are getting prepared for part two: North and South America. Yes, finally, they are getting the opportunity to tour and perform live. I am so very excited for them! European Gem (fandom) got a special treat when the group performed their latest, Juice, BEFORE it was even released. The guys wrapped up their European tour in Toulon, France on April 17, and the song was released that very same day. With signature high octane and boisterous energy, MCND invites us to experience the power, influence, authority and desirability of their special brand of Juice.
Waiting For Donghun ~ Celebrating 200 Days! (Day 200)
Back on May 17, 2019, A.C.E released their EP, Under Cover. It must have been serendipity, destiny or fate as that’s my birthday, and it was the Under Cover tour that same year that roped me in and created a new Choice. We were meant to be, right? Anyway, the entire Under Cover EP is awesome but it has two of my all time favorite A.C.E B-sides, If You Heard and Mr. Bass. Mr. Bass is the subject of my Hunnie Cam offering today in celebration of 200 days served! Yay! Donghun in a suit, dancing to the funky Mr. Bass is really all a girl could ever need to celebrate this milestone. So, let’s hop in the A.C.E time machine and head to the International Youth Center fan sign event on June 1, 2019.
[Musings] CIX Is Coming!
I think it is safe to say that when A.C.E’s leader Junhee went into the Army back on February 7th, I fell into a bit of a K-pop malaise. With three members off to serve their country and a fourth (Byeongkwan) scheduled to go this month, I was really feeling the sting of this hiatus. Perhaps it is because individually as well as collectively, A.C.E has always been a strong presence in my K-pop realm. From a purely fan service perspective, they were there, every day – and, especially Jun. A day did not go by without him updating. I am honestly missing him more than I am missing Donghun..but, shhhhh, don’t tell DH!! I started to wonder if maybe I was hitting my K-pop fangirl expiration date. And then news of CIX having their first US tour, AND coming to my city, was announced. I have to say, I felt the shift, the squee as it were, and realized that I still have a whole lot of fangirl left in me! If you are not familiar with CIX, I hope I can persuade you to have a look and listen . . . and perhaps if they are coming to a city near you, coax you to go out and support this incredibly talented quintet.
Waiting For Donghun ~ Happy Birthday Donghun! (Day 159)
All milestones along this countdown journey are important but none are more than a birthday!! On this Day 159 of Waiting For Donghun, we celebrate one of two birthdays Donghun will have during the course of his service. I do not think it will thwart celebrations, to be honest, but I will definitely miss the midnight VLive group celebrations that often come with an A.C.E member birthday. For this stop along the way, I want to share a celebratory DH Fan-Artastic work from Italian artist, Erika, who partnered with A.C.E Global back in 2018 to create a banner for Donghun’s birthday. Even though it celebrates a past birthday, it is a delightful art piece all the same.
Waiting For Donghun ~ Celebrating Under 500 Days!
Well, well, well, another milestone achieved and I missed posting it on the actual day . . . my bad!! 😞 Hopefully this faux pas is forgiven. That said, Donghun officially has under 500 days remaining in his service. Yay!! Let’s celebrate with a DH Dance Break, shall we? Okay . . . how about we do it with A.C.E’s last comeback, the energetic Changer? Sounds good to me! So buoyant and fun, Changer is the perfect mood for any celebration!
[News] A.C.E Leader Park Junhee Begins Military Service
The well of a fangirl’s heart is deep and mysterious. This is the only reason I have for A.C.E leader Jun’s departure to complete mandatory military service hitting me harder than that of elder A.C.E brother, Lee Donghun. And the thing is, his departure did not come out of left field. No, we Choice knew Jun was leaving on February 7, 2022, but somehow when the day rolled around, I still felt unprepared. Especially given Jun’s farewell live broadcast the night before AND the barrage of messages he shot out the morning of. Not going to lie, Jun’s departure made me unexpectedly teary.
Playlist Roulette ~ Crush On You [IZ]
It’s been a minute, right? The Playlist Roulette series went on a little bit of a hiatus (well, more like I went on a little bit of a hiatus) and that hiatus included a break from listening to my Strictly Korean playlist. But I opened it up today, dusted off the shuffle button, and am pleasantly surprised by the track it welcomed me back with: Crush On You by K-rock, pop and decidedly flower boy band, IZ. When I would go on my Korean music deep dives I rarely did any research on a group if I came across a song I liked. I would put the song on the playlist and carry on with the dive. That is why this series has been both interesting and informative for me personally. It has introduced me to music and groups I would have otherwise never been introduced to. IZ and their B-side (yep, some things never change) from their 2018 Angel EP is a perfect example, and a great way to ease back into this series.
