October 15, 2017 marks MBLAQ’s 8th anniversary. Yes, eight years ago today MBLAQ debuted and revealed to Korean popular music and fans around the world, a versatile group with talent, vision and a stockpile of charisma. At their zenith as five, they were powerhouses on the stage, and were the kings of variety brimming with comedic timing and a natural ability to charm not only the many show hosts, MCs and DJs they met, but colleagues and fans alike. Yes, there have been highs and there have been lows, but they are still standing intact as three, as talented and charismatic as ever. I celebrate their love, friendship and unity, not only today, but every day.
I think you will agree that the overall exercise of this countdown series has placed me in a perpetual state of nostalgia. I suppose it is not all that surprising given the parcels of history I have been sharing throughout these past 500+ days. Sometimes I wonder if the nostalgia makes fans sad in some respects. It is undeniable that MBLAQ has evolved and changed since their debut in more ways than simply the change in dynamics from a five man group to three. Still, the journey to the now is an important part of their collective as well as individual journeys. Therefore, I like to look back, even way back like I will do today with a From The Studio moment and the MBC Chin Chin radio performance of This Love.

Why do I have a feeling that these remaining 189 days are going to be invaded and duly taken over by Selca Magic moments here on the Countdown? Could it be because that at ten days into the month of August, G.O has updated for the 7th time? I say let the invasion continue! So yes, on the evening of 10 August, our beloved main vocal updated once again with a pic of himself with our beautiful leader, Yang Seungho. Kyaaa!!

So now Ivy has shipped your Seung Ho CDs and shipping agent, Tenso wants to send the treasures to you. I know that navigating both of the Ivy and Tenso sites can be daunting and I probably should have created an Ivy tutorial (maybe next time if G.O releases a Japanese solo CD…hehehehe). I know many international fans have now set up Tenso accounts to help facilitate shipments from Japan. Once your Tenso account is up and running, receiving future Ivy (or other Japanese vendors who do not ship internationally) purchases will be easy. But, there is still a hurdle to jump to get your package from Tenso to you, and I have created a step-by-step tutorial that I hope helps.
Just a reminder to USA+ that the group order for Seung Ho’s solo Japanese CD デモアイタイヨ will close Monday, 24 July 2017. As a reminder to all fans living outside of Japan who want to order independently, you can do so after creating an account with shipping provider Tenso.
Ivy has now released photos of each individual CD cover (Types A through E), and I must say our quiet leader is looking classy, elegant, sophisticated and yes, very handsome.

I wanted today to be another Vocal Virtuosity day after hearing One recently. Even though it is a MBLAQ group effort, Mr. Main Vocal proves predominant throughout the song. As you know, when that happens, I like to bring it to the forefront here on the countdown because as much as I adore all of MBLAQ’s music, when my lovely bias takes the vocal helm in a song, it rapidly moves up my fave list. I forgot how feel good One is and how crystalline and powerful G.O’s vocals are throughout the song. Even though I have been diligently searching, I could not find an actual live version or performance. If any of you are aware, please post a link to in the comments section. I did recall however the 13 September 2011 KBS broadcast of The Lord of Magic show wherein our fab five performed a wonderful and remarkably sweet LED light show using One as a backdrop music to the performance.

I hope this update brings good news and the opportunity for more USA+ to get their hands on Seung Ho’s Japanese solo debut CD, Demoaitaiyo. When I posted my last update, it was based on information I received from Ivy at that time. In their email to me they stated that they were only selling Seung Ho’s CD as a five CD set. Then overnight everything changed. But changed in our favor! Ivy decided to offer a couple of different packages, one of which includes the purchase of one CD, only. As a result, I have reworked everything, including shipping costs. So let’s get started!
