I guess you can say that I am still lost in the memories of 2014. Finding my way into the MBLAQ fandom had begun in 2014 and although the road ahead would prove to be difficult, I was prepared for the journey. Indeed I was prepared to begin experiencing the many facets of G.O’s charming personality along with his incredible talent. Today is a special day for me. It is a day I think I will continue to commemorate because it was on this day three years ago that I first met G.O. Yes, I am corny and nostalgic, I know. It really was sort of a life-changing event for me. A good one at that. This 413th day was originally a One Shot day on my countdown calendar, but since G.O gave us a lovely selca back on 31 March, and I am in happy anniversary to me mode, I thought I would bump the one shot back a day in order to celebrate this latest update/survival report.

Mmmmmmm . . . sexy Sexy Beat, how I do love to revisit thee. The music, the style, and the drop dead gorgeous that is G.O, all of it a feast for the senses. For this Fan-Camming Friday, I turn to the fantastic editing skill of the mysterious MemenGO. In June 2013, MBLAQ was blazing hot and ferociously promoting their fifth mini album, Sexy Beat. During that steamy summer month, the men gave fans 7 glorious fan signs (Ilsan, Yeongdeungpo, Jongno, Yeouido, Sinchon, Incheon and Yongsan). Masternim MemenGO’s fan cam mix that I share today contains those moments captured at the June 15-16 and June 21-22 fan signs.

Hehehehehe……this man and his adorable sense of humor never cease to entertain me. Instead of a music-oriented Fan-Camming Friday moment today, I am choosing a little blip of G.O from the 9 June 2013 mini Inkigayo outdoor fan meeting. In addition to the incredible Sexy Beat style that he knew he was absolutely killing (and he totally was), G.O also made it a point to mention that even though he wears sunglasses, he has very handsome eyes.

I am not going to deny that when I praise G.O, some (if not all) of those accolades have been stated more than once. I like to praise him, have you noticed? I happen to think he is rather praise-worthy. I know that I have repeatedly stated how much I admire the way in which G.O connects to music. It will always be one of my favorite things about him. But what about the way he connects with fans? I think I have mentioned that kind of connect a few times in various posts also. It too is one of my favorite things about G.O. Then again, my list of favorites is chapters deep. In a recent rewatch of a G.O-focused cam taken during MBLAQ’s mini outdoor fan meeting on 11 September 2011, I became so taken with the G.O fan connect effect that I wanted to share that moment here on Day 390 as a wonderful example of G.O’s Fabled Fan Service.

Things on my side of the world have been a little off and weird as of late due to our present political climate so I am grateful to have my little escape passage here on the blog in this countdown series. Every time I sit down to write about G.O it feels good. Even when I have to write about his interpretation of a particularly heartbreaking song or a devastatingly emotional moment from the musical stage, I always end up happy to have shined some light on his indomitable talent. Although everything about him makes me smile, his playful fan sign moments are special kinds of treasures. Today I share one from the Sexy Beat fan sign in Masan back on 20 July 2013.

I suppose it is rather obvious that I have been having deep (and perhaps emotional) longing to travel back in time to the spring of 2014 when everything seemed to be wonderfully in place for both G.O in his independent pursuits on the musical stage, as well as with MBLAQ as they settled into promoting their 6th (and truly brilliant) mini album, Broken. I left Seoul in mid-April of that year after a lengthy stay, and therefore missed the impromptu meet & greet G.O held in the lobby of the Universal Arts Theater on 5 May 2014. I was momentarily disappointed when I learned of that meet & greet, but that dissipated quickly as I reminded myself how fortunate I was in any event to have experienced not only G.O’s amazing fan service, but his incredible performance in 서편제 [Seopyeonje]. It is Day 350 and seems like a great day to celebrate G.O’s Fabled Fan Service as he met with fans back on that sunny day in early May.

Every day is a good day to celebrate G.O’s congenial fan service, no matter how he serves it up. True, I have missed experiencing these memories real time, but to be able to relive and watch his gregarious interaction with his fans remains a never-ending pleasure for me no matter how long ago in past or relatively recent these moments have occurred. Reliving them through the many days of this countdown often times makes them feel as if they have happened only yesterday. So many may remember the subject of today’s post, the Yeongdeungpo fan sign during Blaq% promotions in January 2012.

The thing I wish for the most for G.O, after insurmountable happiness, love and bombastic success of course, is that when he attends his first fan sign (either alone or with MBLAQ) post-military service, he regains the kind of excitement and happiness he experienced in fan signs of the past. You know, sort of like the Blaq% Coex fan sign on 29 March 2012, a focused fan-cam of which is the subject of today’s installment of Fan-Camming Friday.

When I look at old fan cams of showcases, fan meets and fan signs, I am always so taken with G.O’s genuine and often heartfelt appreciation of his fans. Never one to shy away from speaking, pranking or even fulfilling fans’ requests (no matter how absurd) and often without hesitancy or even protest, he truly is an artist who will go to great lengths to please us, always. If his talent and charm were not already enough, his gratitude and appreciation for his fans has no match. Yes, I am biased but I can also proclaim such based upon my own personal experiences. G.O’s playful affection caught back at the outdoor mini fan meet in March 2012 is the subject of Day 288 (the 1st day of December!) and another installment of G.O’s Fabled Fan Service.
