I carry around a notebook (everywhere I go) that has now become quite tattered wherein I have been keeping track of each and every Countdown post ~ yeah, I am pretty old school. When I began this series, I wrote down each day of G.O’s service and have been gradually filling in each line (day) with an idea or thought for a post for that specific day. A long while ago, I made Day 244 a Fan-Camming day and next to it simply wrote: Omiya. I have many fond memories of that lovely day in June. It was also a day filled with an avalanche of feels. When the newly minted trio performed 말하지 말걸 [Don’t Speak], hearing G.O sing it live once again reminded me that the song and his performance of it will forever remain in a class of its own when it comes to feels. Inasmuch as writing about G.O has become a necessary habit, I did not anticipate the well of emotion that I would experience while doing so while being in Seoul. I tried very hard to have as many posts ready to publish prior to my arrival, but I have to be honest, I am kind of happy I get to write while here in Seoul. While it is not adding any new dimension to how I write (or what I write for that matter), I do feel different while doing so. It is 17 October 2016, my 13th day in Seoul, and G.O’s 243rd day of service. No, I have not seen him but just being in the same city (and time zone) makes me pretty happy! Today, I honor composer G.O by ruminating on the heartbreaking 기도 [Prayer] from Love Beat.

Yesterday I began to take a look at G.O’s lunar astrological sign, the Fire Rabbit. Turned out to be a much longer post than I anticipated and I still had a couple more aspects I wanted to touch on so will wrap it up here on his 241st Day of service. The more cerebral and emotional side of the demure rabbit could possibly be where we can see a deeper connect between G.O and his furry lunar sign.

There is no sweeter tonic for senses than an incandescently playful G.O. As I patiently await his return from military duties, I also wait for the moment he unleashes his playfulness upon us once again. In the meantime, I will use the One Shot to revisit as many of those moments as I can throughout this series by way of the either picture of .gif. Today….it will be .gif form.

Is it my imagination or when MBLAQ debuted, G.O was given quite a few opportunities to showcase his incredible vocals by way of often covering songs during live radio broadcasts. And I mean, immediately after debut, too. Of the many things I appreciate about G.O, one is definitely his love and respect for early R&B, specifically that of Stevie Wonder. It has been a while since my last Retro Room post so I thought it would be nice to travel back to November 2009 and sink into G.O’s tender cover of All in Love is Fair.

Of course everyone remembers MBLAQ’s participation in the Idol Athletics, right? One part competition, one part fan service, and all parts entertaining. It seems G.O was always a willing and competitive participant. But he was always quick to engage and entertain the fans. It seems that the deeper I get into the Countdown series, the more sub-categories I discover. Quite simply, G.O’s fan service should have always been here, and shame on me for waiting this  long! To get started, I am going to keep this one short and sweet by taking a quick look at a moment during the 27 August 2011 Idol Athletics where G.O, along with Seung Ho took a bit of a dance break much to the delight of their fans.

Do you remember when it was when we first saw G.O after he concluded his basic training and settled into his public service post with the City of Seocho? I do. It was back in April and it was a traffic safety campaign. Remember the excitement of seeing him in the public service announcement with the gregarious mayor of Seocho, Mayor Cho Eun Hee? I wrote about it way back on Day 48. DAY 48!! We have patiently waited for Mayor Cho to put our favorite Seocho City staff member to work in front of the camera again. Five months and 187 days later, I get celebrate that moment!

It seems abundantly clear to me that G.O indeed got the memo to bring every ounce of beautiful with him to perform at the 17 January 2012 MBC Beautiful Concert. In fact, it is almost too much beautiful to endure. It is Day 234 of G.O’s service and it seems as good a time as any to bring a beautiful pictures and fan-camming moment to the blog. Come…let’s immerse.
