Even though it was a variety show that was perhaps comedic in nature, there was something also very endearing about MBC’s Hometown Variety Dreams & Fields.

Golden moments. That is how I describe any and all Tykeys moments captured whether it be photograph, audio, video or otherwise. They are part of G.Os history and even if he disagrees, an amazing part at that. In the short time Tykeys spent promoting and performing before they disbanded, they left us with so much gold. The rare practice room videos are indeed treasured gifts and always wonderful to unwrap and enjoy time and again.

If there is one thing I am certain of after watching MBLAQ’s Hello Baby, it is that when the time comes for G.O to be a parent to his own children, he is going to ace daddy-hood. And yes, I am well aware of the fact that Hello Baby is a reality/variety show and that the men of MBLAQ were ‘appas’ for the purpose of entertainment. Nevertheless, there were still some genuine parenting moments the men faced and G.O proved he was up to the task.

I know I am not alone when I say that G.O has exquisite features. He has warm, deep and soulful eyes. An adorable nose. His full cheeks are pinch-worthy and his perfectly shaped lips could easily be the envy of women everywhere. Even his ears are perfect. Although he is gorgeous when you look at him head on, I happen to really love his profile.

Every day is a good day to be a MBLAQ fan but today was extra special. With G.O quietly serving out his military duties in public service, social media updates are cautiously allowed. He has restrained absent a few Twitter/Instagram profile picture changes which is a sweet (and cheeky) way to connect with his adoring fans while he is away. He went one better today by updating his Instagram account with this gorgeous picture of himself along with Seung Ho and Mir with a caption that read:
The three of us have been reunited after a long time.
We’ve worked hard. Can you tell what cds are behind us.
I can work with infrequent updates from him if there are more selcas (solo or with the group) in the future. Then again, I am perfectly content with any method he chooses, so long as he continues to stay in contact. ^.~

There is no remedy to help calm the fluttering of the heart, the emotional overload and cacophony of feels I experience when G.O sings in English. Of course, I love when he sings in Korean. Well, I just love when he sings. Period. And yes, Korean may be the language he speaks, but I think it is music that is the language of his heart.
It is true that music will always be a language that bridges the gap of understanding, a vibrational language that need not be understood in word when conveyed with honest, pure and passionate emotion. Nevertheless, Seung Ho, G.O and Cheondung’s offering of Maroon 5’s This Love (in English) on 아이콘 [Icons] was nothing short of heart-stopping.

Another Throwback Thursday moment. I would like to go back to some early print work the men of MBLAQ did shortly after debut. Check it. Debut in October 2009. Featured in Korea Vogue Girl in November 2009. Even though this is so very long ago, and now may even seem bittersweet, I still cannot curtail my excitement for MBLAQ (and specifically G.O) at what was such an amazingly exciting time in their career. Who can resist a man who clearly enjoys being an uncle just about as much as he enjoys being an artist?! I admit I am rendered completely weak when I see pictures of G.O with his family. Pictures of him being the loving and engaged uncle are even more delightful. In 2011, G.O along with his nephews (Choi Wan and Choi Yoon) and the younger of his older sisters (Jung Hye Yoon) landed on MBC’s variety program, Flower Bouquet, and charmed us all with their down-to-earth affable natures.

The first of G.O’s duets I encountered where he sang with a female partner (outside of his work with Baek Su Kyung) was 니가 따끔 거려서 [Because You Sting] with Brown Eyed Girls leader, Jea. Even before I heard and purchased the studio version of the song, I watched the two of them duet on the January 23, 2011 episode of SBS KJE’s Chocolate. I revisit this performance often and all of the feels from the first time I saw it return, and I fall in love all over again.

One of the first things I became aware of after G.O successfully abducted my heart was his uncanny ability to lock in on cameras in the audience from the stage with eagle-eyed precision. Every camera was a magnet and he, the steel. Early on I admit to being envious of those fans on the receiving end of those appreciative glances and penetrating gazes.
