For awhile there in the early days of this series, I was pummeling the Countdown with lots of posts about the various endorsements G.O was involved in which were primarily clothes and accessories. Today it hit me that I have not done one in a really long time. I am pretty sure there are more floating out there than I have touched on here thus far. Today, just a quick flashback to when he gave clothing and accessory brand Codes Combine some love. The jacket above is a Codes Combine piece that he wore during the broadcast of his final visit to Immortal Song 2.

The more I dig into the background of the music that shaped the story of 광화문 연가 [Gwanghwamun Sonata], the more I understand the level of reverence paid to composer/writer Lee Young Hoon. Gwanghwamun Sonata fascinates me because of the unique way in which the musical was born. To build a story around well-established ballads made popular by singer Lee Moon Sae and turn it into a musical was brilliant. Today, I want to revisit a moment from the Gwanghwamun stage where G.O’s rebellious and charismatic Kang Hyun Woo sings an excerpt from the incredibly poetic, 시를위한시 [A Poem for a Poem].

Maybe because it is spring that I have been honing in on G.O’s sexiness as of late. I mean, he has always been sexy in my opinion and I have not shied away from stating that fact here ~ and quite often. But lately it seems to be getting mentioned frequently in my Countdown posts. Hehehehe….I suppose as spring continues to bloom making way for steamy summer, I will be compelled to share G.O’s special kind of sexy. Most of the time, it is quiet and sneaks up on you. Sometimes though, it is full on blatant. That kind, (the second kind) is quite prevalent in my G.O One Shot offering for today.

I am not quite ready to leave MBLAQ’s participation in the K-Pop Heal The World show in Singapore back in June 2011. Moving from the lovely selca yesterday and into Fan-Camming Friday,  I found a short clip of a G.O-focused cam captured at the very end of MBLAQ’s performance of 다시 [Again]. Short like in 20 seconds short. That is short. But it is Friday and everyone should be eager to start the weekend, right? I will even try to keep my words at a minimum. <~~~ Is that even possible?

Because I essentially have the heart of a child and own a bit of a playful nature myself, I cannot help but bring a new (and cheeky) sub-category 434 days into the Countdown. Outside of celebrating G.O each and every day of his service, one of my favorite parts of this countdown journey has been coming up with sub-categories to help guide me. Some of those categories are perhaps somewhat serious while others are a bit more quirky and (hopefully) fun. This latest idea came to me suddenly and falls directly into the ‘fun‘ side of the spectrum. I am calling it The ABC’s of G.O. My goal is to make my way through the alphabet, choosing a word for each letter that I believe describes G.O. I will try to veer from the obvious and will dig deep into my Thesaurus. It may prove to be challenging, but I am ready. Beginning at the beginning today with the letter A.

Preparing for a comeback is hard work. Likewise, preparing for the raw intensity of 전쟁이야 [This Is War] had to have been even more demanding. I suppose having the mischievous G.O in the practice room on those taxing days brought some relief to the hardworking men of MBLAQ. And indeed a few laughs. The behind the scenes moments captured in the practice room during the The Making of War Story DVD provided yet another look at the ever playfulness that infects G.O, even during those long and grueling hours of practice and preparation.

There was a reason MBLAQ titled their fifth mini album Sexy Beat. When you look at all of the visuals that exploded from print to video, to live stage performances throughout promotion and beyond, everything about that album (and era) oozed sexy. The men were maturing and settling into their masculinity and with Sexy Beat, it showed. For the G.O One Shot today, I take a shot from the Sexy Beat era offered in .gif form.

It was exactly four months ago today that I had an In The Practice Room With Tykeys moment here on the Countdown and I recall at that time that I wanted to save Tykeys’ rehearsal of 연상연하 [Old & Young] for as long as I could hold off on sharing it because it is one of my favorites and I just wanted to delay the pleasure just a little. Thankfully, I plan some posts well in advance so when I saw this on my countdown log journal for today, I was so excited. I cannot believe I refrained from moving it up sooner, but having waited is making it that much sweeter. For this 430th day of G.O’s service, we travel back to 2007 to sit in on Tykeys’ energetic rehearsal of 연상연하 [Old & Young].

I know I will probably hear some debate from the Mir-lovers out there, but I am just going to flat out declare G.O the most playful out of all of the members of MBLAQ, past and present. I am certain there is not a single toy out there that would be able to escape his keen curiosity or desire to just play. Our sweet music man hardly needs any further ammunition to fuel his mischief, that’s for sure. Thanks to his adoring A+, his toy collection is no doubt vast and varied. He took home some choice pieces from the 21 July 2013 fan sign in Pyeongchon, but not without having his way with them first.
