I feel like a Windows To Your Soul ~ The G.O Eye Connect moment today and found a nice example in fan-cam form. I thought about waiting until Friday to make it a double categoried day but then figured why wait? I am relaxing my rules these final days of G.O’s service. I should even try to challenge myself to come up with fan-cam moments for each day remaining. I am confident there are enough cams out there to satisfy that challenge and I am sure it would be cool with everyone, right? Hehehe….cams will steadily make appearances regardless of the day and if I chose that route, I would not get my One Shot moments in or finish the alphabet in The ABC’s of G.O sub-series. And you know I must keep those selca moments in rotation. Therefore, I will stay my current course. For today then I give an Eye Connect moment from the taping of the MBC Korean variety program, 매직쇼크 [Magic Shock].

There have been so many instances throughout this countdown series when I mentioned how much I believe G.O is a work of art all unto himself. After viewing so many pictures and yes, having the opportunity to see him up close and in person, I still hold this thought to be true. I have to give much credit to those who have captured him on film, specifically his loving fans. True, the subject matter (G.O, himself) is a great foundation to work from. And yes, timing, perfect light (or not), and camera settings help. Nevertheless, G.O provides the perfect canvas as a starting point and dedicated masternim MemenGO has captured to film many fine moments of our exquisite work of art main vocal  man. Just a single One Shot for today on this 593rd day of his service.

I have to be honest when I say that I have not made it through every single variety show, radio broadcast, performance or interview of G.O that has ever been captured. In fact, I am markedly behind (an embarrassingly so). When I finally see something that may be old in the sense that it happened five or more years ago, I am still filled with so much excitement. That kind of excitement that so many of you felt at the time of broadcast or capture. Hopefully, in my late discovery, you are able to relive the excitement once again yourselves. Furthermore, I hope it makes for a nice revisit or a catalyst to revisit something you perhaps have not watched or listened to in a long time. Maybe my post for today will be one of those because if you have not watched the online talk/variety Gurupop Show in a while, you might want to revisit the sweet and silly once again.

I wonder if the wow and entertainment factor was the same watching MBLAQ perform with the iconic Uhm Jung Hwa as it was when Justin Timberlake performed with Madonna. I have to believe it was pretty sensational in that Jung Hwa was considered the Korean Madonna with her eclectic presence and daring style. In any event, MBLAQ’s performance of D.I.S.C.O with Jung Hwa at the KBS Gayo Daechukjae back on 30 December 2011 provides enough frisky focused fan cam of G.O to satisfy me on this Fan-Camming Friday. More than enough!

We have now reached the middle of the month and somehow time seems to be picking up speed. Soon, G.O will hit the 600 day mark. 600 days out of 730. Can you believe we have come this far so fast?! Some days I find it difficult to contain my excitement because we are getting so close. Have you begun celebration preparations yet? Too soon? Hahaha, I can’t help it. I am ready for his return! However, in the event you feel time has been dragging or are yourselves feeling sluggish, how about an Oh Yeah cam for this Fan-Camming Friday? You remember The Dream Concert back in May 2012 and those black shimmering outfits with see-through sleeves, right?

When I sat down to write on this 567th day of G.O’s service, the first thing that came to mind was that I simply wanted to hear his voice. Paging through the catalog of songs I had no idea which one to choose as all are special and perfect in and of themselves. Then I remembered back before his first performance in Seopyeonje, G.O had visited the KBS CoolFM studios with co-star Cha Ji Yeon wherein he sang a few bars of 청춘이 묻는다 [Youth Asks], without music. Just his voice. Impromptu in the studio.

Not too long ago I was commenting on how I believed that certain people possess a special light or glow about them and that, in my opinion, G.O was one of those people. It is a light that is warm, inviting, magnetic and very attractive. Once you recognize it, you always want to be around it. We are almost at the half way point in this little sub-series, The ABC’s of G.O, and it would be easy for me to use the quintessential L word to describe him because yes, he does signify love to me. Instead, I want to return to that special light idea and choose the word lucent to describe this lovely (<~~~ I snuck it in there) young man.

Kinetic comes from the Greek word kinētikos, meaning “of motion,” which in turn traces to the verb kinein, meaning “to move.” If you have been a friend of the blog since G.O commandeered my every thought, you will have likely come across my discussions about how music moves through him as he performs. Even if he would consciously try to prevent it, I think it would be fruitless. When I watch G.O perform, music becomes as visible and tangible as it is auditory moving through his body and exiting in a symphony of sound that is harmonious and full of passion.

I have never taken part in a variety show or sitcom live taping but would gather to say that it is probably a long process with many breaks, delays and takes in the action which probably make conditions ripe for mischief. Such was the case when our main vocal mischief maker had a little fun on the Star King set back on 17 January 2011. We really are quite fortunate that G.O engages with his fans with the level of comfort he does which, if you ask me, often seems more family familiar than fan familiar.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 553

말하지 말걸 [I Shouldn’t Speak] was the first MBLAQ ballad I completely fell in love with when I began my journey as an A+. You have to remember, I came to the party late and thus began purchasing their albums all out of sync relative to their release. I recall being captivated by the Mona Lisa concept with my newly established bias paying homage to one of my favorite actors, James Dean. I was quite intrigued. Mona Lisa was one of the first albums I purchased both physically and digitally. 말하지 말걸 [I Shouldn’t Speak] was the lone ballad on the album and it caught my special attention. Even though a solid group effort, G.O’s vocals tear at my heart. His voice in the studio version is perfection, filled with all the of longing, pain, and sadness that accompanies the end of a relationship. Hearing and watching G.O sing this song live however deepens the poignancy of the regret-laced lyrics that he brings to heart-wrenching life with every note. A Vocal Virtuosity moment today from the Curtain Call stage back on 30 November 2014. Sigh . . .
