Are any of you hopeless romantics like me yet lose sight of the fact that you are? I am sure there are a few of you out there. You know, had your heartbroken a couple few times but on a good day somehow feel that love is still transcendent? Sometimes when I look back at G.O’s roles in either Pure Love or Couples Clinic, I am reminded that I am indeed a hopeless and quite often, helpless romantic. Back on 4 November, G.O took to his Instagram account and uploaded a couple of scenic photographs, one of which seemed to indicate that he was in fact visiting Tokyo’s own Magic Kingdom. We had already been given reason to believe G.O was in Japan when he earlier (2 November) posted a picture of the Yoshinoya restaurant sign. With his 4 November updates, G.O’s ardent Japanese fans recognized that he had indeed visited Tokyo Disneyland.

Happy Birthday, Byung Hee!!

This may be a Monday and the 628th day of G.O’s service, but it is also the 6th of November. On the surface it may seem like a day like any other. However, it is far more special. Back in 1987, a celestial event occurred on this day. Jung Byung Hee was born. Here we are again celebrating G.O’s birthday, the second time around as an enlisted man. Only this time, there is not another long year ahead of us to navigate awaiting his return. No, not on this birthday. G.O now has 103 days remaining in his service which, if you want to break that down equals 3 months, 1 week, 4 days, 16 hours, 19 minutes and 59 seconds, to be exact. Yes . . . I am counting!

Happy Birthday to the sweetest, most humorous, intelligent, and talented man I know. Happy Birthday to my dearest Byung Hee!

As we inch towards G.O’s final 100 days of service, I cannot help but feel a sense of urgency to cheer both him and his fans on to the finish line. What theme song could be more appropriate than his solo song from the Mr. 아이돌 OST, Believe? It also serves as an equally wonderful addition to the Vocal Virtuosity files.

Ok, so on 2 November, G.O took to his Instagram account with a mysterious picture update. He posted a picture of the popular Japanese food chain Yoshinoya pulling all of our G.O-radar antennae in the direction of Japan. Could he be in Japan? Possibly. Then on the evening of 3 October, G.O updated once again. This time from what possibly was the men’s room of an establishment say…like a restaurant? With no captions or hashtags, G.O is keeping us guessing. However, where he is currently is not important. What is important is that he continues to spoil us with updates. And seductive ones at that.

Amazingly, I have let over 600 days pass without giving G.O.O.D Luv proper love and attention here on the Countdown. Shame on me because it is one of those songs that have a way of just making you smile and feel good. With its infectious beat and catchy choreography I would think that it most probably was (and is) a fan favorite and iconic in its own right as an MBLAQ pop song. I always love watching the joy in the performance the guys brought to the stage, even when effectuated in one very extravagant suit jacket. More nostalgia today for Fan-Camming Friday with a focused G.O.O.D Luv cam from the Family Science Festival performance on 24 April 2010.

Since it is Thursday, I thought it would be nice to throw things back to 2009, and to the artful lens of A Lucky Day. The series of photographs she captured back on 1 December 2009 when G.O and Mir appeared on MNET’s Open Studio are each gorgeous captures that could have easily been shot this year, or even last week (you know, before he exiled the goatee). Happy November! Unequivocally, the month of G.O! I am kicking off the month with a One Shot since according to my log, it is time for one.^^ I think one of the most beautiful and exquisite professional pictures of G.O that has ever been taken comes from the GQ Korea spread for the 2011 Armani Exchange watch collection campaign. There were a few pictures taken for the campaign, but the one I share as today’s G.O One Shot is perhaps one of my all-time favorites of the series.

The letter Q is a tricky letter in the English alphabet but I will not shy away from finding a Q word that I believe is a G.O descriptor. I have often labeled him quintessential in many ways, specifically as a vocalist. Being described as quintessential means being a quintessence and being a quintessence means that which possesses the purest essence of something and is the most typical example. The epitome. The ideal. The embodiment. Indeed, I can take this adjective and probably apply it to many facets of G.O. Apart from his voice which is the embodiment of sound manna to my ears, I happen to believe he is the quintessential balance of all that is strong and masculine while also being incredibly soft and gentle.

Seriously, I think I could spend the remainder of this countdown series alternating between G.O updates and Vocal Virtuosity moments. That is, if by some chance G.O decides to say, update every other day. That would be convenient.^^ Frankly, I do not put anything past him these days. He could very well decide to ramp things up in anticipation of his return. What I have learned in life (especially since taking this fangirl side job): anything is possible. To start the week off sweetly, another Vocal Virtuosity moment from our romantic main vocal.
