It seems that I am not quite ready to walk away from the summer of 2015 and G.O in a sexy black fedora quite just yet. A black fedora is always a sophisticated style choice. It is classic and elegant. And when pulled down low across one eye it adds a sense of mystery and danger. A fedora is wearable film noir and I have to say that it added a powerful and mature feel to G.O’s stage presence during 전쟁이야 [This Is War] at the Daejeong Super Concert on 30 August 2015. It’s Fan-Camming Friday and Day 702 . . . let’s do this!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 695
I think it is a good day to go wild, don’t you? 2012 was one very bountiful year. So much MBLAQ goodness including the sub-unit collaboration of G.O and Mir. Usually prone to high jinks and mischief, our wild pair traded in their playful images with some in-you-face swag during the Blaq% Asia Tour that year with their provocative single, Wild and it is my choice for this Fan-Camming Friday day.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 620
If any of you came to the MBLAQ fandom after the summer of 2012, then I am sure you share the same regret for missing out on the Blaq% Asia Tour. In a way it is probably a good thing that I was not yet cognizant because I most likely would have gone head-to-head with my HR department to allow me the vacation time adequate enough to have gone to at least one of the shows on the tour to see G.O live on stage. In any event, my regret subsides when I come across the many pictures and cams from that tour which of course include the many airport sightings as the men darted their way throughout Asia. To add to my ever growing collection of G.O’s Airport Style, I share a little bit of the masked man as he and his MBLAQ cohorts made their way to and from Bangkok in early July 2012.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 562
Happy Friday and welcome to September! Time continues to move quickly as we inch towards G.O’s military discharge. It is Day 562 and the excitement continues to build for his return. Today, I opt for a short and sweet cam moment from G.O and Mir’s Koica Dream days in Peru. Just a little love for this Fan-Camming Friday.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 471
One of the five million things I absolutely adore about G.O is how he is the perfect balance of fiercely masculine and achingly tender. On either side of those spectrums are numerous examples of each. Today I opt for a fiercely masculine moment which will always be best displayed during a performance of 저쟁이야 [This Is War]. Even at the fiercest moments of Run, Stay or even Oh Yeah, nothing matches the furious vocals, choreography or penetratingly intense gazes that This Is War brings. Couple that with black on black on black costumery and the performance becomes all that more powerful. There really is nothing that can remotely temper G.O’s intensity during any This Is War performance. It definitely was present at the Busan Catholic University show back in May 2012. In fact, that kind of intensity only amplified the charisma and handsomeness that oozed from the stage that day. It is Fan-Camming Friday and a blast of G.O intensity is the perfect way to usher in the weekend.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 470
The sweetness of debut G.O always sends a flutter or two through my heart. Of course, I find him to be completely endearing in every era, this is true. But when I take a look back at the early, early days, like debut days, I see an eager excitement in the smile of his eyes. Bright and anticipating. Full of hope and passion. We all know G.O was no stranger to the idol/group lifestyle and dynamic having lived it briefly with Tykeys. But I remember an interview where he said something to the effect that when he joined MBLAQ, it was like he was reborn, as if he was getting a second chance at life. A life he envisioned himself living, the life of an artist creating music that would touch hearts. This desire to create something beautiful and gift it to the world is perhaps the foundational aspect of fan service. Today some early shades of G.O’s sweet fan service from way back in December 2009.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 468
I adore a demonstrative singer. I love to watch a song invade the very psyche of a vocalist and render him helpless to its melody, lyrics and emotion. The kind of connect with a song that makes it become the absolute control center of every nerve ending in his body. So much so that the song moves through a vocalist at will controlling all senses. This is what I believe a song does to G.O. I have written about it often here because it is something that I find fascinating about him as vocalist. I love that he lets a song in, and lets it have its way with him. We have reached the letter D in my quirky sub-category of this countdown and my choice for the fourth letter of the alphabet is demonstrative.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 457
As I continue my remembrance of G.O’s impressive portrayal of Prince Ho Dong in 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds], I turn today’s Fan-Camming Friday cam to one of his more sublime moments in the musical both as a vocalist and actor. When we meet Ho Dong for the first time, his mother Queen Yeon, has already passed away leaving him vulnerable and alone. Yet in a scene that is perhaps a dream or a vision, Ho Dong and Yeon sing together. For me, the two of them singing together was one of the truly poignant moments in the show. And vocally, it was astounding.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 455
By the end of Act One in 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds], it was clear that young and gentle Prince Hodong was resolved in his heart and mind to follow in his father’s footsteps, declaring not only to his protective and wise spirit animal the phoenix, Byungari, but to himself, that he could be the king his father wanted him to be. But his phoenix knew Hodong better and what was more important, Byungari knew the dangers and treachery within the kingdom and how unsafe it was for Hodong. She also knew that in his heart he doubted his ability to rule a kingdom. Still, Hodong rebelled against the phoenix and began to emulate his father’s warrior nature. Today’s G.O One Shot comes in .gif form of the young prince making it known to his questioning spirit animal that he will be the warrior king his father wants him to be.
The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 454
I loved all of 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds] from the music to the costumery, to the incredible visuals, music, and the story itself (even though it was sad). It was a feast for all of the senses. And that G.O was a part of it made it even more magical. But I think one of my favorite things about the show was the element of fantasy and the fact that there were spirit animal protectorates for the King and Prince. Even sweeter was the fact that Ho Dong’s protectorate was a phoenix, who although similar in age to the young prince with a playful child-like nature, was still full of strength and wisdom. Today, a Playful G.O moment from the musical stage between Prince Ho Dong and his 병아리.
