TWO MONTHS TO DISCHARGE!!!!
Are any of you hopeless romantics like me yet lose sight of the fact that you are? I am sure there are a few of you out there. You know, had your heartbroken a couple few times but on a good day somehow feel that love is still transcendent? Sometimes when I look back at G.O’s roles in either Pure Love or Couples Clinic, I am reminded that I am indeed a hopeless and quite often, helpless romantic. My G.O One Shot today is a little shot of some G.O romantic from Pure Love.
In the early days of this countdown series I was giving all kinds of love to G.O’s turn in the drama Couples Clinic: Love & War 2 that he starred in alongside Rainbow’s Go Woori. I admit to being completely smitten with the idea that he was in a drama that had romance as its foundation. As you know, there are so many things that attract me to G.O. For certain, his ability to tap into his romantic side be it in music, drama (and hopefully some day, film) is high on that list. You will all recall that moment in the episode when Joo Won proposes marriage to Go Eun during a romantic dinner which also included Joo Won serenading her prior thereto with a short excerpt of Han Dong Joon’s classic love song, 너를 사랑해 [I Love You]. Undeniably, a Vocal Virtuosity moment.
For some reason today I started to think about rookie cyber crime unit detective Lee Tae Kyun. It has been awhile since I watched 유령 [Ghost] and I may be ready for a re-watch. In the meantime, a little Lee Tae Kyun love for today’s G.O One Shot. I have been breaking my one shot rules quite a bit lately so today I continue the tradition with some LTK .gif spam. He’s too cute!
I am going to declare with great confidence that MBLAQ indeed has produced more than one capable actor among its members. G.O’s supporting role as Director Jeon Dong Gil in the thoughtful comedy, 아빠는 딸 [Daddy You, Daughter Me] may not have given him many scenes or pages of dialogue, but it did prove a few things. I am going to take this 462nd day of G.O’s service to point them out.
I particularly love today’s offering for the G.O One Shot. For the past ten days I have sprinkled the countdown with moments revisiting G.O’s time on the musical stage as well as celebrating his arrival to the silver screen with his film debut in 아바는 딸 [Dad is Daughter]. I cannot deny that my favorite aspect of G.O’s artistry is his music; however, I am enamored of his ability to take the joy and pain he has experienced, the ups and downs of life, the struggles and the triumphs, and let them all simmer deep in the well of his artistic soul ultimately manifesting themselves through him as an actor.
After seeing G.O’s stellar performances in both Seopyeonje and 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds], I knew his talent stretched far beyond music. When news hit that he had been cast in a supporting role in director, Kim Hyung Hyeop’s 아빠는 딸 [Daddy You, Daughter Me], I was elated. And yes, it may only be a supporting role; but the way I see it, supporting roles can very well pave the way to the leading ones in the future. I am very excited for our dashing young actor!
