The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 703

Okay, I am not going to lie. I admit to being somewhat concerned about what I was going to do when I reached the letter X in The ABC’s of G.O sub-series here on the countdown. The letter is not the friendliest of letters when trying to find adjectives in general let alone one adequate to describe our lovely G.O. But, I think I found one.^^ We all know that G.O has an affinity for travel and that his life and career as an artist has allowed him many opportunities to see a great many parts of this world. Although the life of an artist, celebrity, etc., can be difficult at times in that they are often always under scrutiny, the perks of being able to see the world, experience cultures and meet people from all walks of life, is certainly enriching and I think G.O would agree. This is why I am comfortably saying that G.O is xenophilic.

X is for Xenophilic

Yikes! On first look (and sound) xenophilic sounds like a medical condition! In reality, the definition of the word xenophilia means having an attraction to foreign peoples, cultures, or customs. Someone who loves to travel and embrace other cultures is an example of a xenophilic person. Now, does G.O necessarily have an attraction per se? Maybe. But I think we can safely argue that he does love to travel and indeed enthusiastically embraces other cultures as well as the music of foreign peoples to be sure. He was cutting his proverbial artistic teeth on the music and melodies of a variety of Western R&B artists at a very early age.

As G.O’s fans, we benefit greatly from his love and appreciation of Western music along with his love and appreciation of travel. Yes, there is a treasure chest of media at our disposal that our xenophilic main vocal has allowed to be captured and/or has captured and shared himself. I know I am ever-grateful he has allowed us to tag along on many of his culturally rich adventures.
