After MBLAQ’s rather successful Blaq% Asia Tour in 2012 (and particularly so in Japan), it was decided that the group would release a Japanese version of Mona Lisa and it was sensory overload. The one thing a physical CD can give us over its digital counterpart is beautiful packaging coupled photo books and photo cards that are artfully produced and which become treasured artifacts. For Day 272 of G.O’s service, I feel like revisiting the Three Shades of Japanese Mona Lisa.
So there were actually five versions released of the Japanese Mona Lisa single CD, two regular and three limited. We have seen the limited version in three different colors: black, white and red. When news broke about the release of the CD single, it was stated that the black captured the powerful performance side of the group, while the white showcased MBLAQ’s happy and bright personalities off stage. I found nothing about the red. If anyone knows, please leave a comment.^^
It is difficult to choose a favorite, isn’t it? Each has its own spectacular vibe. The black is indeed powerful, magnetic and stylish. The white is urbane, soft and gentle. The red is electric, playful and fun. Hmmmm….those adjectives could easily be describing our amazing main vocal man himself. True, he possesses all of those and so much more, all of which are wrapped in his own very special spectacular vibe.
