The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 305

Maybe the holidays are making me a bit more sensitive and sentimental but lately I have been thinking a lot about Prince Ho Dong, his story and more importantly, how wonderfully G.O portrayed the young tender prince in the 2014 production of 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds]. The One Shot today is a delightful capture (and memory) from rehearsals.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 213

My last Heavenly Collaboration post on Day 199 featured G.O’s vocal partnership with his Seopyeonje co-star Jang Eun Ah. I must have G.O’s musicals on the brain because I decided that his collaboration (on the 바람의나라 musical stage) with Go Young Bin was equally as heavenly. For this post, I am revisiting KBSLife’s Bookmark Culture show where, back in May 2014, the two talented musical actors sat down to talk about their work together on the musical stage. They also performed a song from 바람의나라, and that is my focus for this post.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 48

When news of G.O’s Army enlistment hit media outlets on February 15, 2016 announcing that he would be entering training camp three short days thereafter, there was a collective gasp of shock heard across the fangirl stratosphere followed by much wailing and tears that our beloved main vocal would be out of sight (but never out of mind) for a good full two years. Little did we know that our tears were for naught.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 25

The first five months of 2014 were pretty spectacular for our gentle main vocal, G.O. As the year opened, he was in rehearsals for Seopyeonje which subsequently opened in March. By April, he was knee-deep in promotions for MBLAQ’s 6th mini album, Broken. At the same time, he was cast in a second musical, 바람의나라 [Kingdom of the Winds], scheduled to open in May, a mere 3 days after his final performance in Seopyeonje. He was perhaps at his busiest, yet I don’t think I have seen him happier.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 2

I feel very fortunate to have had my first G.O experience come in the form of musical theater, and with two very prestigious roles. I have a feeling G.O has yet to fully embrace the fact that he was as good as he was in all three of his musical roles, and that he has this wonderful and natural ability to wed music with acting. Moreover, he does it with an effortless honesty, grace and ease.

바람의나라 (The Kingdom of The Winds) – Final Thoughts of G.O’s Prince Hodong

Kingdom Leads

As I sit down to gather my final thoughts about the musical 바람의나라 (The Kingdom of The Winds), and in particular, G.O’s gentle nuanced performance, I truly do not know where to begin. Before I stepped into the theatre to watch it unfold real-time, I did a little background check of the story so I would have some idea going in.  Still, nothing could have prepared me for the powerful and emotional interpretation brought to the stage by the Seoul Arts Group or the tender, heart-wrenching performance by G.O in the role of Prince Hodong. G.O continues to shock and amaze me.

When Your Bias Walks Right By You and You Are Not Prepared

Friendly GO Fanservice

After I spent my birthday seeing G.O perform twice in one day, handing him a gift, “accompanying” him to his vehicle (yes, we are not going to call this following – we, his fans, were merely accompanying him to make sure he made it safely to his car – hehehe), and ultimately getting a warm, finger-threaded, palm-to-palm handshake good-bye, I wondered what my last day in Seoul would have in store for me. It seems that once I decided to be true to my fangirl heart and direct all of my energy to G.O, the gods of all things Byung Hee have allowed me many moments in his presence, enough now for him to recognize me. When your bias recognizes you, it elevates this fangirl thing to a whole new level.^^

When Your Bias Knows That Skinship is THE BEST Birthday Gift

GO birthday CUTE OMG

Saturday, 17 May was my birthday and I was in Seoul. This, by far, has exceeded anything I have ever done to honor the day of my birth. In short, it was completely outrageous! But as I grow older, I am discovering that outrageous is pretty much the norm if your going to reach my age and decide to become a raging fangirl! Yes, raging – there is no other way to describe what my life has evolved into over the past year. And to think, it all started so innocently with Gong Yoo, Yoon Eun Hye and a coffee shop! But, I digress – let’s get to the real adventure here, the G.O adventure! ^^
