When I decided to take this daily journey counting the days served of G.O’s military service, I knew that there would be a wealth of G.O moments I would be able to write about and share. Admittedly, I would have loved to kept it primarily focused on his music. But in a way, that would do him a bit of a disservice. Even though G.O would probably describe himself a musician (and specifically, a vocalist) first and foremost, his time spent on the musical stage, small screen (and soon, big screen) as well as MC duties and his many appearances on variety programs offer us a window to the vast and infinite facets of his incredible talent. And then, there is his charm, which is always in overflow mode. But it was completely off the richter scale in Episode 41 of KBS2’s Invincible Youth.

When I look at these three gorgeous and talented men, I am filled with inspiration. I am also filled with an inexplicable desire to share my love for them in ways that perhaps some feel is outrageous and uncommon. And I have to be honest, I have struggled because there are days when I don’t even understand me either!

Every day is a good day to be a MBLAQ fan but today was extra special. With G.O quietly serving out his military duties in public service, social media updates are cautiously allowed. He has restrained absent a few Twitter/Instagram profile picture changes which is a sweet (and cheeky) way to connect with his adoring fans while he is away. He went one better today by updating his Instagram account with this gorgeous picture of himself along with Seung Ho and Mir with a caption that read:
The three of us have been reunited after a long time.
We’ve worked hard. Can you tell what cds are behind us.
I can work with infrequent updates from him if there are more selcas (solo or with the group) in the future. Then again, I am perfectly content with any method he chooses, so long as he continues to stay in contact. ^.~
~😍~

I am finding that the more I continue to write about MBLAQ’s G.O, the more nostalgic I become remembering how I came to the MBLAQ fandom which in turn makes me reminiscent about many things, including the package events. I think about those events often. Although I almost always have very fond memories, there are still times I regret having done them at all. I have learned that overall people (and this is certainly not specific to our fandom) know how to take, but rarely do they know how to receive. It’s tricky. The receiving thing. I think many of us are not particularly comfortable in receiving, feeling undeserving or ineligible. Perhaps it is because some have primarily been givers that it becomes difficult to navigate the emotions of gratitude that flood our hearts when we are on the receiving end of anything be it words, physical gift, or even assistance. I understand because I, too, have trouble receiving. But, I am getting better at it. I have found that in giving I receive more than I could ever want for in a thousand lifetimes, and that has helped me become a better receiver.

Have you ever watched a drama based simply on the fact that your favorite vocalist had a song on the show’s OST? I did. And, I am not ashamed to admit it! I was not well acquainted with the I Need Romance franchise until number 3 arrived. The pull (of course) was G.O’s fresh and upbeat contribution to the OST, You.

I know I incessantly lament (more like whine) over the fact that I discovered MBLAQ later than most in their fandom. There is something truly special and exciting about experiencing the moment a song is released, catching a real-time red carpet appearance, or even seeing the first photo or video of a photo shoot. The upside is that somewhere most of these past events have been safely secured on the internet. Bless!!

I know….I know. He has only just left. But it is never too soon to plan a party, right? It has been 29 days since MBLAQ’s gorgeous main vocal G.O reported to training camp to begin his mandatory military service. On March 17th he will complete his basic training and officially move to an assigned public service post where he will serve out the remainder of his one year and 11 months in the ROK Army (not that I am counting or anything…^^).

I recall after G.O sang Gwanghwamun Sonata on King of Masked Singer this past December, one of the judges commented that she never thought a man could sing a song more tenderly than a woman. She clearly has not given our G.O a close enough listen. Still, what an exemplary compliment to receive.

Over the past year, we have seen G.O often in deep, rich colors, usually black (which he wears quite well). But how about we travel back in time a bit to a March 2011 Maeryo House photoshoot, where he wore the muted hues of blue, taupe and white. Even the softest and most gentlest of angels created in heaven would find it difficult to match his ethereal presence in these photos.~😍
