Happy New Year!! 새해 복 많이 받으세요!! And, Happy Last Day of G.O’s Military Service!!! We made it. We really truly made it! True, G.O did make it bearable by staying in touch throughout the two long years he has been away, but I remember how forlorn we all were that first day ~ it seems like an eternity ago yet here we are at the 730th day. It is a holiday so I am wondering if G.O is actually off of work on his last day of service. The Lunar New Year is a high holiday across Asia and this year of the Dog celebration actually began yesterday in South Korea. So, has G.O officially completed his service and is already discharged, or will he actually be discharged tomorrow? It’s a mystery! But in keeping with my schedule here on the Countdown, it is a Fan-Camming Friday and I plan to end with another dose of nostalgia. This time coming from a moment close to my own heart, Seopyeonje. I am probably most G.O nostalgic when it comes to Seopyeonje because that is where I saw and met him for the first time. I usher out Fan-Camming Fridays and, thus, this series altogether with a revisit to the 3 March 2014 Seopyeonje showcase.

As excited as I am that there are only six days remaining in G.O’s service, I am simultaneously sentimental. I have always been a sentimental type and it seems as though the support and attention I have given to G.O these past four plus years have rendered me even more sentimental. I guess it is because now I have a history with MBLAQ and, specifically G.O. I have moments that I can look back on wherein I have seen him, interacted with him and have experienced not only his immeasurable talent, but his kindness and graciousness. For my last One Shot, I am going to succumb to my sentimentality by sharing one of the pictures I took of G.O during his last performance before enlisting.

Do we have time for one more G.O Dance Break?! Yes, we do! With one week left of his service, I think we can officially get the party started. What better way to enjoy this final Saturday before G.O’s discharge than to travel back to MBLAQ’s Men in Blaq show on 20 August 2011 and the provocative dance moves of  You. I wondered if I would have time to give You some dance break love and I guess the stars aligned to see fit that, not only that I could . . . but I should.

After today (and I cannot believe I am actually saying this), there will be one final G.O One Shot on this countdown. When isn’t Y a sexy feast to behold? Most always never. It has always been one of MBLAQ’s most provocative songs with an equally intense performance when brought to the stage. So when MBLAQ decided to include it in their performance repertoire at the 4 June 2013 Sexy Beat showcase, I think it pretty much left fans unhinged. Maybe it was all of the black leather and sheer components of their stage wear. Oh my . . . sexy beat certainly lived up to its name. Let’s not hesitate a moment longer and get to the Friday Fan-Camming offering for the day.

I have spent this entire series sharing my thoughts about G.O – how I see him and how he makes me feel. From his intelligence and wit, graciousness and warmth, to his undeniable talent, I have tried to touch on it all without being overly redundant. However, I feel a redundant moment brewing for today. Hang in there with me loves as we are nearing the finish line! We have arrived to the 25th letter of the alphabet and frankly, I cannot believe it myself. The letter Y also proved to be tricky in finding a word worthy of describing G.O but then I remembered something I have talked about often here on the blog: G.O’s incredible and indeed beautiful way in which he surrenders to music and that gave me an idea. Yes, Y is for yielding.

I admit to being apprehensive about including G.O’s involvement in the December 2012 SBS Gayo Daejeon Color of K-Pop extravaganza here on the countdown for one reason and one reason only: He had to share the spotlight. Now, I am not adverse to him sharing the spotlight, usually. I don’t mind when he is on stage with his MBLAQ brothers or on the musical stage with other musical actors. But because I am not so keen about him losing vocal time as rule (even as a member of MBLAQ), I am less enamored of him losing it to other idols! Extreme bias rising over here! Nevertheless, I enjoyed his collaboration as part of Dramatic Blue and happily place it in the Heavenly Collaborations file here on the Countdown. Besides, he looked extraordinarily handsome in that blue Guy Laroche suit.

And, grateful. Today I honor her (along with her subject of course) in my newly created category of Through Fan Eyes. It seems that I am not quite ready to walk away from the summer of 2015 and G.O in a sexy black fedora quite just yet. A black fedora is always a sophisticated style choice. It is classic and elegant. And when pulled down low across one eye it adds a sense of mystery and danger. A fedora is wearable film noir and I have to say that it added a powerful and mature feel to G.O’s stage presence during 전쟁이야 [This Is War] at the Daejeong Super Concert on 30 August 2015. It’s Fan-Camming Friday and Day 702 . . . let’s do this!
