The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 65

This playful (and ever-so thoughtful) namja!! G.O’s public service post while in the military allows for some leniency in his day to day activities which can include occasional (and within certain parameters) sns updates. Still, without posting a single word, our delightful main vocal simply updated his profile pictures on his Instagram and Twitter accounts on April 18th and in doing so, said hello to his adoring fans letting us all know that he is doing just fine.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 64

August 20, 2011 was the Actors Special night on Immortal Song 2. When I watch the opening of 여행올떠나요 [Let’s Take A Trip], I cannot help but wonder what the entire song would have sounded like had G.O and his partner for the evening Jo Yeo Jung, sang it entirely in the bluesy manner in which G.O opened it. Oooooh….I could tell G.O was feeling those first couple of lines in the song and think he would have wanted to test those bluesy waters indeed, if given the opportunity.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 63

I know I incessantly lament (more like whine) over the fact that I discovered MBLAQ later than most in their fandom. There is something truly special and exciting about experiencing the moment a song is released, catching a real-time red carpet appearance, or even seeing the first photo or video of a photo shoot. The upside is that somewhere most of these past events have been safely secured on the internet. Bless!!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 62

It is hard to imagine that in previous productions of the musical 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds] that the part of Prince Ho Dong’s spirit animal, the Phoenix 병아 리 [Byungari – baby chicken, or chick] was played by a male actor. Inasmuch as I believe Byungari was really neither male nor female specifically, I could not imagine any one better opposite G.O in the part than Kim Hye Won. Hence, I will refer to the Phoenix as a she.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 61

When my plane touched down in Chicago on February 15, 2016, I was not prepared for the barrage of tweets and messages I received upon powering up my phone with news of G.O’s enlistment. I went numb and initially had a difficult time watching all of the fan cams from the I.Callist show, specifically G.O’s performance of his opening song, 너를 위해 [For You]. In fact, it is only recently that I have been able to watch and/or listen to G.O sing this achingly beautiful song. At last, I am ready to revisit all three of his 너를 위해 [For You] performances and as such, I anticipate this to be a longer post in comparison to the others in this Countdown series mostly because I am so completely enamored with G.O’s love and respect for this song and the way in which he performs it.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 60

We have reached the two month mark of G.O’s military service. Yay!!! That came rather quickly if I do say so myself! I wonder how time is moving for him….hmmmm? To celebrate the 60th day of his service, I am going to look back at G.O’s moment on the fashion runway for designer Park Jong Chul at the 2013 Sling Stone Men’s Wear Show where the gorgeous was almost too much to endure!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 59

April 6, 2014 was my first full day of a two-week stay I had during my second visit to Seoul. I was there to see G.O in Seopyeonje. When I planned that trip to Seoul, I was not aware that MBLAQ would be in full promotions mode for Broken and I had absolutely no idea how to navigate promotions, was not yet a full-fledged A+, and had no connections anywhere to anyone. But I went to the SBS studios any way that day as MBLAQ was scheduled to perform Be A Man on the Inkigayo stage.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 57

I cannot speak for the entire A+ nation when I say this, but I think I would have sound argument if I were to suggest that one of the top sexiest MBLAQ songs of all time is the title track from their second mini album, Y. Listening to the volatile lyrics of the song, watching the choreography, and absorbing the intense visuals as they explode from G.O rank Y as one of my absolute MBLAQ favorites.

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 56

Imagine you worked in the same office with your beloved and had to keep your relationship a secret? Could you do it? I suppose there is a little more leniency in work places these days and dating someone in the office is relatively tolerated. However, I am sure there are places that still ban it, or at best, frown upon it. Our delightful Joo Won and Go Eun in Couples Clinic: Love and War 2 were caught in situation #2 above, they worked together but loved in secret.
