It is officially the last day of 2016. My Countdown log states that it is a G.O One Shot day and as I shuffled through the many pictures I have crowding my hard drive of this gorgeous man, I stopped dead in my tracks when I hit a few shots of G.O in the . . . well, I am going to suggest, iconic blue pin-striped suit of the Sexy Beat era and said to myself, ‘oh yes, I found my New Year’s Eve One Shot.’

The thing I wish for the most for G.O, after insurmountable happiness, love and bombastic success of course, is that when he attends his first fan sign (either alone or with MBLAQ) post-military service, he regains the kind of excitement and happiness he experienced in fan signs of the past. You know, sort of like the Blaq% Coex fan sign on 29 March 2012, a focused fan-cam of which is the subject of today’s installment of Fan-Camming Friday.

I am not going to lie. I can pair (ship), whatever you want to call it, G.O with anyone and find something interesting or special about the dynamic. Apart from his actual family members however, I would be hard-pressed to find a relationship as special or delightful as that which G.O has with MBLAQ’s maknae, Mir.

Sometimes I have to admit that Korean variety programming is a little bit different, but generally entertaining especially if it gives our fave artists more public exposure. It also adds to the many ways our beloved biases give back to fans. Yes, appearing on a variety program is another form of fan service, in my opinion. When G.O and Lee Joon joined the panel of celebs willing to have their dental health tested on KBS World TV’s 비타민 [Vitamin], my first thought was…okay, this is kind of weird but, it turned out to be surprisingly informative. The big bonus (of course) was watching a show that exposes more of G.O’s amenable, polite, cute and adorable personality. That’s going to be a ratings win right there for me.

그래도 피할 순 없어
Love is a cold temptation, still I cannot avoid it.
Most of the time when I listen to G.O sing, I honestly do not feel the need to fully understand the lyrics and the reason being is that his interpretations, his feelings, emotions, passion, heart and soul generally tell the story without a need for translation. However, I admit that understanding what he is singing about adds a greater and more powerful dimension to the song. One of the songs G.O chose to sing for his last stage before departing for military camp was 사랑은 차가운 유혹 [Love Is A Cold Temptation]. It was the fourth song of his five song set last February at the I.Callist Idol Vocal Concert. It was tender. It was passionate. It was beautiful.

Merry G.O Christmas!!! It is Day 312 of G.O’s service and Christmas Day. This is the first of two Christamases we will celebrate while G.O is serving and it is still amazing to me that soon he will complete his first year. One Christmas down . . . one more to go! If I limit myself to only posting various performances of G.O singing for the next 422 days, it would be quite nice indeed. However, it would deprive all (including me) from enjoying all aspects of G.O’s charm. To be honest, it would also be lazy of me given my overall desire to share every bit of G.O’s art and talent which is in no way limited to just music. While it is true that music is what generally defines him for it seems to be his first and foremost passion, G.O’s own exploration into other genres of art certainly expands his horizons as an artist perhaps even revealing exciting new ways for him to express himself artistically. If I confine this series to just music, one thing is certain: we would miss out on getting to revisit G.Os playful antics such as those captured at Samsung Galaxy’s S III Big Idol Match on 7 August 2012.
