When I sat down to write on this 567th day of G.O’s service, the first thing that came to mind was that I simply wanted to hear his voice. Paging through the catalog of songs I had no idea which one to choose as all are special and perfect in and of themselves. Then I remembered back before his first performance in Seopyeonje, G.O had visited the KBS CoolFM studios with co-star Cha Ji Yeon wherein he sang a few bars of 청춘이 묻는다 [Youth Asks], without music. Just his voice. Impromptu in the studio.

It is now a new month which means there is a high potential for updates (let’s face it, G.O has spoiled us to the point of expectation). Well, he did not disappoint, nor did he waste any time in getting things started for the month of September. On Saturday, 2 September, instead of giving us all mini heart attacks with a sweet and sultry selca, G.O opted to share photos from his own portfolio as a 사진작가 꿈나무, or ‘promising photographer.’

Not too long ago I was commenting on how I believed that certain people possess a special light or glow about them and that, in my opinion, G.O was one of those people. It is a light that is warm, inviting, magnetic and very attractive. Once you recognize it, you always want to be around it. We are almost at the half way point in this little sub-series, The ABC’s of G.O, and it would be easy for me to use the quintessential L word to describe him because yes, he does signify love to me. Instead, I want to return to that special light idea and choose the word lucent to describe this lovely (<~~~ I snuck it in there) young man.

Yes, it is time for another One Shot and today, it comes in .GIF form. Even though I have not yet written about G.O’s participation in the SBS Gayo Daejeon’s Colors of K-Pop, I cannot resist sharing this behind-scenes-moment .gif where in a few short seconds we experience G.O’s soulful gaze followed by radiant smile. Just when I thought the bounty of updates G.O gifted us in the 18th month of his service had concluded, he launched an assault on our hearts. On the evening of 30 August, he pushed us clear out of any mid-week Wednesday blues and updated with not one, but two gorgeous selcas that, to be honest, are better than boyfriend picture could ever aspire to be. Ladies, show your boyfriends because this is how it is done.~^^

Even though it is not a Thursday, I have decided on a throwback moment for Day 560. Sure, I probably could have waited until tomorrow (Thursday), but when you think about it, every post of this countdown series is pretty much a throwback moment with the exception of the multiple survival reports and updates G.O himself has given us during his service that have been included here in this series. So every day, minus those, are throwback days. Today, I head back to a moment just prior to the release of MBLAQ’s second mini album, Y  and G.O’s video message wherein he asks us to find and re-attach our necks which he is confident have fallen off during the long wait for MBLAQ’s Y album. Haaahaahaha….so cheeky!

The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 558

Kinetic comes from the Greek word kinētikos, meaning “of motion,” which in turn traces to the verb kinein, meaning “to move.” If you have been a friend of the blog since G.O commandeered my every thought, you will have likely come across my discussions about how music moves through him as he performs. Even if he would consciously try to prevent it, I think it would be fruitless. When I watch G.O perform, music becomes as visible and tangible as it is auditory moving through his body and exiting in a symphony of sound that is harmonious and full of passion.
