Waiting For Donghun ~ Day 28

I decided on a Vocal Magic moment for today and then also realized that the post could equally double as a pre-debut moment. Even though Donghun and Chan recorded this cover of John Legend’s All of Me prior to A.C.E’s debut, it falls decidedly more perfect in the vocal magic category. I am not going to lie, when I first heard it, I was floored. If you are familiar with John Legend’s original, you will know it as a solo song. Let two sing it and it becomes a harmonized masterpiece of grand proportions. I could be exaggerating, but I am most likely not. Come have a listen.

I think I have said all I have needed to say and want to get right to the song. So, without further ado, I give you A.C.E’s main vocals, Donghun and Chan, with their moving cover of All of Me.

I just love it and I will tell you what I love most. I LOVE that both Donghun and Chan get the opportunity to individually hold the main melody while the other is given the chance to harmonize over it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Did I happen to mention that I love it? Hehehehe…ok, I am letting my emotions runneth over here. In addition, the added improvisations just make the experience of listening to this cover all that much more rich.

These are not simply two vocalists flexing on a well known vocal-oriented song. I may be in speculation mode because my emotions are clouding my reason, but when I listen to this interpretation, my first thought is that both Donghun and Chan really love and appreciate the song, and more importantly, love to sing it.

My ears (and hopefully yours) feel blessed.
