The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 660

When isn’t a G.O-focused Mona Lisa fan cam a good thing? It is always a good thing. Whether on a Friday or any day, watching (and hearing) G.O during Mona Lisa is a tantalizing delight. I think it has been well over 100 days since I last honored a Mona Lisa performance, so time seems about right to have another. For this Fan-camming Friday, I am choosing a focused cam from the Cheong-gu Prime Concert on 8 August 2012.

Looking devastatingly handsome in black and gold, G.O shape-shifts between the push and pull of Mona Lisa here. Moments filled with fire and aggression are buffered by the passionate lamentations of love, both sides ripe with power and passion. Take note of his eyes and how their expression changes throughout the song.

I am not aware of too many artists who are as demonstrative and expressive as G.O is when performing, especially when he communicates with his eyes. We are all well aware of his ability to interpret art through the instrument of his voice. But when I watch him perform, I see G.O using every fiber of his being to communicate, entertain and most importantly, make us feel.

Music is the literature of the heart; it commences where speech ends. ~ Alphonse de Lamartine
