Sometimes the best captures in picture form are those wherein the subject is unaware a camera is being pointed at him or her. Even though G.O is pretty keen on locating cameras in a crowd, there are many times when he is not particularly paying attention. Don’t get me wrong, I love, love, LOVE when he locks eyes with a camera’s lens (especially those cameras being operated by fans). However, I love the oblivious ones as well because they sometimes capture a thoughtful, quiet or reflective moment. My One Shot for today is one of those captures.
Lately I have been really admiring black and white photographic captures of G.O. Even with the technology of high definition and the vibrancy of color photography being an explosion of clarity and various hues, there is something nostalgic, warm and artistically appealing about black and white photography. What was G.O thinking here? Was this taken backstage before a performance? Was he taking a break on stage mid or between songs? I love the soft distant look in his eyes and the gentle frame of his profile. And when is a picture of G.O’s impressive forearms not a good thing? This may not be the most perfect capture but it is exquisite nonetheless. But then, I see G.O as a splendid work of art all unto himself. I am biased like that.~.^
