The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 112

The night of September 15, 2012 was so very, very special. It was legend Yoon Shi Nae night on Immortal Song 2 and all of the planets aligned in G.O’s favor when he took the stage to sing the very haunting, 사랑의시 [Love’s Poetry].

If I am not mistaken (and certainly correct me if I am wrong), it was legend Yoon Shi Nae who said that because G.O is so very sensitive inside, he is able to make any song his own. Here on his 14th visit to the Immortal Song 2 stage, he wove his beautiful artistry around 사랑의시 [Love’s Poetry] and won his second trophy of the competition.

As it is a singing competition program, indeed he would want to tailor the song to his liking, structured to showcase his incredible vocal prowess so that when he performs, it sounds as if the song was written, arranged and recorded by him in the first place. As we have seen over the course of these performances to date, G.O has repeatedly re-created the legend song into something fresh, modern and innovative. His 사랑의시 [Love’s Poem] is no exception.

G.O sang as if each note was piercing his heart allowing a flood of emotion to spill into the rushing current of  violins, violas and cellos. I love this arrangement and I have to believe that G.O had some say in how the song would be arranged and without question, performed. Everything about this performance is brilliant. The dramatic strings, the melancholy trumpet, and G.O’s incredible improvisations all collide creating a passionately charged atmosphere of love, longing, and desire.

So.Very.Beautiful. In every imaginable way.
