TVXQ Tuesday: Ride On

This one is so infectious and funky! I LOVE THESE GUYS!!! And they seriously break it down and dance the crap out of this one. Sorry….I am just a little excited. When I see Junsu grooving like this coupled with that spectacular voice I tend to get carried away. That little growl or whatever you want to call it that he emits around the 1:14 mark just sets the tone for me and prepares me (somewhat) for the hip thrust he throws at us around the 1:31 mark. Seriously Junsu we are just barely over a minute into the song and you do THAT to us?!

From their third Japanese studio album T, and 13th Japanese single over all, Ride On has that early 80’s funk vibe to it that I appreciate so much. Kind of reminds me of The Gap Band with inflections of Prince. But I tell you what, there is so much hip thrusting going on in this performance, I had a difficult time concentrating on the vocals.

And just when you think Yunho is going to calm the situation down and take a trip down slow groove lane…

…the maknae steps out, gives us some ‘tude and another hip thrust. Was not expecting that from him.

Yunho and Junsu, on the other hand, seem to have brought hip swivel, thrust and grind a whole new level here. Even Yoochun’s hips joined in. Yes all that hip action did seem to distract me from listening to their vocals, I admit it.

Oh yeah…that’d be Junsu!

When Jae sings it kind of (and I stress kind of) sets me straight on the right path because he pretty much kept his hips in check! LOL! Jae’s voice, even in these more energetic dance pieces still sounds as velvety smooth as it does in the ballads.

But really, it is ok if I wasn’t paying too much attention to the vocals, right? I mean, we all know that they are going to sound good no matter what. And they do sound good here – actually, they sound great.

You have to admit that was pretty entertaining. The synergy and energy of these five combined truly is unmatched. Together they are such a complete unit of individual pieces that fit and lock together like a perfect puzzle. Don’t get me wrong, I love them still as their separate groups. But I think many Cassies would agree that there is nothing quite like the five of them together. Their stage performance in songs like these with that tight choreography was yet another intrinsic facet of  why as a whole they were truly a K-pop force to be reckoned with.
