Waiting For Donghun ~ Day 15

Getting to know Donghun and learning about his artistic journey is one of the best parts of doing an extensive blog series like this countdown. If you know me or have been around the blog for some time, you probably know I am a research nerd. Even though I went into the legal field as a profession, I still have thoughts about being in some kind of research-oriented job. I guess in some small way I am feeding that desire here as I learn and write about some of my favorite groups and artists. So, where did it begin for our sweet main vocal?

Waiting For Donghun ~ Day 6

A.C.E came into my K-pop fangirl realm in the fall of 2019 when I saw they were going to tour the US and Chicago was on the list. In fact, Chicago was the first US city on the tour. I had no idea who A.C.E were and, at the time I saw information regarding the tour, I had never even heard a single song. Yet, because I am impulsive and relatively adventurous, I decided to buy a ticket. Oh, and not just a get-you-in-the-door ticket. No, I went full VIP which included a hi touch and photo card packet. If you answered GOT7, you win! The prize? A beautifully Jinyoung-penned declaration to Ahgase worldwide that the next chapter is indeed the group’s Encore. That is, that they are not (nor will they be) leaving the stage, or each other.

Playlist Roulette ~ Can You Feel It 감이 오지 [Pentagon]

When I sat down and was ready to see what the pull for the week would be for this edition of Playlist Roulette, I thought to myself that I could really use a bit of a banger as it were to help burn off some of the anger, disbelief, and embarrassment of the events of last week here in the US. I also needed something to bring me back to my safe and happy place that is K-pop. Pentagon’s Can You Feel It [감이 오지] came to the rescue.

Playlist Roulette ~ So Bad.. [Victon]

The Strictly Korean playlist really dove deep this week and surfaced with a B-side from Victon’s second mini album, Ready, which was released four months after the group’s November 2016 debut. So Bad.. is a jazzy pop number that opens with a rap verse and eventually settles into a playful groove fortified by solid vocals and some pretty impressive ad libs by rapper/vocalist, Seungwoo.
