Remember back in 2014 when the men of MBLAQ posed for Ceci Magazine? There was all kinds of cats and cuteness, it was winsome and carefree photoshoot and the one shot of G.O that particularly stood out for me was of him wearing the bright blue and white striped shirt and red beanie. Happy 30th Birthday Byung Hee!! It is Day 263 of G.O’s service with 468 days remaining! This will be one of two birthdays he will celebrate while serving his country. For today, I want to keep it very short and simple. The first time I saw G.O was when he was starring in Seopyeonje, hence my choice for picture for today. And, the first time I celebrated his birthday was in November 2014. Since then, I think I have been celebrating him daily. My message for dear sweet Byung Hee today is simply this: The 30 candles lit on your birthday cake today will never shine as bright and as incandescently as you do in every way….every day!

Sometimes I wonder what it must have been like for G.O when he finally stepped into a recording studio to record not only a song, but an entire album. I have to believe that during those early recording days with Tykeys, he was as much of a student in the studio as he was an artist. I also imagine how amazing it must have been to be a producer or engineer on the opposite side of the glass hearing the mellifluous sounds of G.O’s music echoing through the speakers and realizing what a golden voice this young man possessed. At least that is how I would have felt when I heard him sing his solo song, My Way, from the amazing Ty Project No. 1.

I had to check the news archives for Sunday, 28 August 2011, because I was convinced there was some kind of seismic event or change in the atmosphere with the level of sexy that was exploding from the Guro Gyeonnggi Public Broadcast stage that day. I am usually not at a loss for words when I write about G.O, but for this lovely Friday . . . two days before G.O’s 30th birthday, and the 261st day of his service, I will simply let him mesmerize us with movement captured and edited with sweet precision by letsgoinho.

I am feeling particularly fan-girly today and offer a Mona Lisa era selca for Day 260 of G.O’s service. G.O during the Mona Lisa era ~~~> so sultry and mysterious. With his long bangs covering one of his deep and gorgeous eyes, this style with its alluring mystique created perhaps one of G.O’s most provocative looks.

I recall feeling a rush of absolute excitement when the charmers of MBLAQ released the track list for their 8th mini album, Mirror, and there was a song penned by G.O entitled, I Know You Want Me. I could not even begin to wrap my brain (or emotions) around the fact that he wrote a song with a seemingly provocative title. And, he gave that song an English title. The anticipation of hearing a new G.O composition was overwhelming . . . I could hardly wait!

G.O’s fan service. It is legendary. So why not celebrate it here while we countdown the days towards discharge from his military duties. As I make my way through this countdown journey, I am pleasantly amazed by G.O’s ability to continually inspire me. Even when I am looking at a blank page, or a blank line in my tattered notebook, something always seems to find its way into the countdown. True, there is so much to love and admire about G.O, more than 730 days can contain, to be sure. So let’s have some fun with his fabled fan service.

I have to admit that I admire the balance of strength and softness that houses itself so effortlessly in G.O. He exudes a masculinity that is always present and evident, but it is never threatening or chauvinistic. Perhaps it is because he has surrendered himself to his softer side, embraces it, and is not afraid to reveal it. Am I the only one who finds this extremely attractive? I have not met very many men like this and perhaps this is why I am so smitten with G.O. I have to believe that development of this delicate balance came early, when he was a child perhaps. Moreover, I have to believe it had something to do with how he was nurtured. I have to believe it started with family.
