Happy Monday! It is Day 670 which means there are officially under two months remaining in G.O’s service. So unbelievable, but true. In two months he will return and with that return, a hope for an avalanche of new music. Just the thought of that fills me with so much eager anticipation. Fortunately, we have a wealth of recordings that have been keeping us . . . well, at least have been keeping me, satisfied during the wait. Past moments captured of G.O singing a beautiful love ballad always reach, soothe and caress the inner most corners of our hearts. They also create a desire and longing to hear more of the songs and sounds that have most assuredly been resonating within the corners of his recording studio. While we wait here on Day 670, I will share a moment that came shortly after debut. Yes, a moment From The Studio with G.O and Eric Benét’s sublime The Last Time.
The one thing about a debut, or comeback for that matter, is constant promoting that happens as a result. When we look back at any of MBLAQ’s eras, the promote trail always included many radio show appearances. Often, those appearances were captured on video. In Korean radio broadcasts, that is a bonus.
A few days after debut, the men of MBLAQ visited the MBC studios during the Starry Night show and during the broadcast, G.O got to sing a solo number. I love MBLAQ, but I love when my bias gets the opportunity to shine. And shine he did that fine October day . . .
This has to be one of G.O’s best renditions of this gentle and beautiful song. He moves effortlessly through each phrase, lyric and note caressing our hearts. I love it. As is evident by the soft look in his eyes as he sing, this song touches him as much as it touches us. I love seeing his MBLAQ brothers and everyone in the studio silenced and mesmerized. Just so beautiful.
After everything I’ve learned;
Now it’s finally my turn.
This is the last time I’ll fall… in love.
