The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 644

If my memory serves me correctly, during one of his chat sessions earlier this year, G.O mentioned the song My Dream, commenting on how it is a really good song. I concur. It is one of MBLAQ’s ballads where we got hear very early on the wonderful flavor, layers and versatility in G.O’s voice. In the course of these past 644 days, I have written about this song a couple times. It is because I really like it. So please humor me one more time because I dug up another early performance that serves well for a Wednesday (or any day), especially when I want to open the treasure chest of Vocal Virtuosity moments here on the Countdown. The date: 19 March 2010. The place: Myongji University.

I really do not have to expound on the beauty of G.O’s vocals in My Dream. Indeed, it is one of those sweeping and emotional ballads that sits so very well not only vocally for him but perhaps also on a deeper more meaningful level as well. It is a song that showcases G.O’s ability to improvise and get lost in the beautiful melody of a song, and is also one of those songs where we can experience his incredible vocal range.

Oh, I do love the way this man tells a story with a song. I always feel as if I am taking a journey when I listen to him sing.

A journey to the center of my heart.
