Remember when the press sat in on one of the rehearsals for 바람의나라 [The Kingdom of the Winds] and we all were able to watch G.O begin to bring the sweet, playful Prince Hodong to life? At the time, I had no idea what the story was about, but watching G.O begin to absorb the persona of the cherubic prince was exciting and magical.
StarNews Korea was one of the media outlets in the practice room back on 1 May 2014 to capture G.O during rehearsals. In addition to moments of dialogue, they also captured portions of songs G.O would be singing in the musical.
When I first watched this video, I had no idea that G.O would be basically portraying a five year old prince. In looking back at it now, he really did capture the wide-eyed innocence of a child. At the time, I did not know who his playmate was in the scenes captured above.
When I began to fully understand the story, I loved the idea that the young child prince’s playmate was in fact a young phoenix who was also his spirit animal and protectorate. I wrote at length about Hodong and his Byungari way, way back on Day 62.
Even if I write about it a thousand times, I will never tire of traveling back to these amazing days in 2014 when G.O was creating memories as a musical actor, not only for himself but also for all of us.
