The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 403

One of the many recurring themes and/or thoughts I have shared in quite a few blog posts I have written about G.O has been that you can set any song in front him and he will be able to sing it. And not just sing it, he will feel it. Or better yet, absorb it by allowing it to mix and mingle with his own history, experiences and emotions. So then, it does not surprise me that he gave a Celine Dion song a try. No, it does not surprise me at all.

Waking up alone
In a room that still reminds me
My heart has got to learn to forget
Starting on my own
With every breath I’m getting stronger
This is not the time for regret

Forever. Always. Without question. This man, this incredibly gentle and talented man proves to me over and over again that songs resonant with him on a level that is so beyond anything I can possibly explain. You see, G.O understands and feels music far deeper than I can comprehend. But I do not need to comprehend because I am too wrapped up in feeling his gift.

I am placing this mere 25 seconds of Love Is On The Way from a 2 August 2007 recording from SBS radio’s 두시탈출 컬투쇼 [Two Hour Escape] in The Retro Room since it is from a very retro time in G.O’s career. However, it easily doubles as a Vocal Virtuosity moment as well.~^^ G.O so young here, yet so grounded, mature and poised.

Let me just take a moment to melt a little . . .
