The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 277

Yes, so I missed MBLAQ’s Japanese debut also. Sigh . . . It would have been a great way to celebrate my birthday month in May of 2011 as debuts bring all kinds of treasures. Those treasures manifest themselves in the form of a song, album, MV, live promotional appearances, even fan meets or fan signs. It would have been all kinds of birthday bliss. But alas, I arrived late. I still can relive the excitement though, right? MBLAQ debuted in Japan with Your Luv, a song I happen to think showcased G.O’s indelible voice and potent charm.

I have to be honest when I say that Your Luv is nothing earth-shattering in way of lyrical content. It is a whimsical love song where our hero says that he will do anything to win the heart of his beloved, and nothing will stop him. No matter how long it takes, nor how many oceans are between them, he will continue his quest to win her heart. It is a text-book love song. What it lacked in depth perhaps was certainly leveled up by the powerful dance track that was its foundation . . . and MBLAQ of course, the absolutely magnetic driving force.

Then there is the MV which is eye-catching, fast, furious and fun.

Even more was the tempest of charisma pouring out of G.O.

I really wish G.O would be a little more cautious with that charisma – you know, serve it up in smaller doses maybe? Perhaps it is because G.O is not aware of how strong it really is, or of the quantity that he possesses which makes it impossible for even him to control. <hehehe>

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if, after Seung Ho, G.O and Mir complete their mandatory military service, MBLAQ had comebacks in both Korea and Japan . . . and a debut or two in (many) selected countries across the globe? Indeed, I continue to dream big for MBLAQ.

  1. That was actually new to me. Can’t say it’s my favorite MBLAQ song but it seems like it was a pretty fun song for them to do.

    • I think MBLAQ will always give back to their Japanese fans with great love and appreciation. I happen to love the Japanese version of Mona Lisa and my other favorite is Still In Love. Here, I just love love love G.O’s voice….as usual.^^
