70 days!!! Seriously, the days are flying by!! After grabbing his first win on the Immortal Song 2 stage, I would suspect that G.O began to really settle into the competition. Even as humble as he is and (at times) self-doubting, I think his competitive juices were really beginning to fire up. Maintaining his ability to innovate, G.O duly wowed both audience and legend Kim Wan Sun with his jazzy rendition of her 오늘밤 [Tonight].

If I had to sum up G.O’s August 27, 2011 Immortal Song 2 performance of 오늘밤 [Tonight], I would just suggest you simply look at Kim Wan Sun’s face:

Raise your hand if you have worn this face a time or two while watching G.O perform!!! Wan Sun ssi was clearly delighted with G.O’s dreamy and jazzy performance that evening. I dare say that I even detect a hint of *sw⊗⊗n* in her eyes!! Yes, no one is safe when G.O sings.

No one.

I am going to say it for the millionth time, and I am certain I will continue to say it over and over. You may tire of it, but I certainly won’t. G.O is the quintessential mixture of gentle and strong. He exudes a combination of power and vulnerability. I don’t know. Maybe I do not get out much, but I have not known too many people like this in my life. Usually, people are one or the other. Or, it could be that one aspect is stronger than the other and therefore whichever that is, that is all we see, or all we feel comfortable showing the world.

This is only my observation and opinion, but I feel G.O is such a unique and perfect balance of the two. He has incredible power and perseverance, yet is not afraid (nor ashamed) to show his fragility and vulnerability.

But I digress. G.O was so so SO smooth in this jazzy rendition of 오늘밤 [Tonight], his charm and charisma off of the charts. Opening restrained, almost with a breathy whisper, he let the song slowly build and when he let loose during the final chorus, he brought it up an octave, his voice raspy, sexy and strong.

The human voice is an incredible musical instrument all unto itself to be sure. And our G.O…..he is a virtuoso.
