I admit that I am a Mirror and Sexy Beat girl when it comes to my favorite MBLAQ albums. HOWEVER, I will never (ever) deny that MBLAQ’s sixth mini album Broken deserves masterpiece status. It squeezes itself up there with those other two because its amazingness will not and cannot be denied. Neither will the powerful and seductive visual of the exquisite jacket flip that showed up in the MV choreography for the hit single, 남자답게 [Be A Man].
With Broken, I believe MBLAQ finally settled into the belief that they were capable of contributing more to their music than just their voices. G.O, Mir and Cheondung, had either writing and/or composing credits for six out of the seven songs. That is almost the entire album. Even the released single, 남자답게 [Be A Man] which was penned by Wheesung, had a writing credit for Mir. Imagine having a writing credit with Wheesung.
For this post, I really won’t go into how spectacular the album is – that would be redundant! Rather, I simply want to pay homage to the jacket flip because I recall when I first saw it in the official MV, the subtle yet powerful move nearly blast me from my seat as I sat innocently watching.
Yes, the jacket flip. Such a small move with incredibly big meaning. A blatant brush off that still held all the enticement of a come on.
A subtle move within the choreography that not only fit well with the sophisticated vibe of the song, but looked visually spectacular.

Oh Yeahhh… That jacket flip gets me every time too. And “the art of seduction” seems a pretty fitting title for the video you included as well. LOL
