Reason 9 – Under the Scorpio Sun

“We are born at a given moment, in a given place, and like vintage years of wine, we have the qualities of the season in which we are born.” ~ Carl Jung

I have always been fascinated by Scorpios. The interest bordered on both curiosity and fear. If you have known any, you will agree their energy is palatable and intense. See, Scorpio sits directly opposite from my own sun sign, Taurus. Like dead across. As such, I have always felt the draw of this opposite force. It is no surprise then that when I discovered G.O was born under the sign of Scorpio, it both fascinated and excited me. For that, I list this as one of my many reasons to love Byung Hee.

[series] 116 Reasons to Love Byung Hee: #8 – The G.Oatee

Reason 8 – The G.Oatee

JG8-2

“A good mustache makes a man for many reasons.” – J. Oates

Van Dyke, vow-beard, pickedevant or soul patch. Call it what you will. These are just a few words used to describe the goatee. When I think of a goatee, my mind invariably goes straight to the gorgeous G.Ostach-ed one himself, G.O. Some people hate it. Others are on the fence. Me? Well I have added it to my long list of reasons as to why I love Byung Hee.

[series] 116 Reasons to Love Byung Hee: #5 – Everybody on the Left

Reason 5 – Everybody on the Left

gogogo-1

I happen to think left-handed people are otherworldly. There is something unique and mysterious about them and so it comes as no surprise to me that MBLAQ’s resident mischief-maker is left-handed. Call me crazy (and you probably already do), but I find that characteristic oddly attractive and rank it as one of the reasons to love the adorably sweet and delightfully left-handed Byung Hee.

That Ridiculously Surreal Fangirl Moment You Cannot Believe Actually Happened

Screen Shot 2014-06-02 at 3.28.17 PM

I was truly hoping that video of the May 30, 2014 MBLAQ online Meet & Greet would be uploaded so I could rewatch it to make sure I was not hallucinating the events of that afternoon (well, it was early, EARLY morning for me). MWave obliged. It really happened. That sweet and furry bias of mine, G.O, visibly shocked at seeing my picture, remembered me, mentioned he knew who I was and told Seungho, Cheondoong, Mir and everyone watching how I came to Seoul to see him in his musicals. It was indeed one of the most surreal moments in my life and one I won’t soon forget.

When Your Bias Tells Everyone He Knows YOU

MNet Meet & Greet

In what seems like a million years ago now, MNet scheduled an online Meet & Greet with MBLAQ to celebrate the release of their 6th mini album, Broken.  It was initially scheduled for Thursday, April 17, 2014 which would have been really cool for me since I was in Seoul at that time to see G.O in his second musical, Seopyeonje. Then the Sewol Ferry tragedy happened and out of respect for the families who lost loved ones as well as for a nation mourning, MBLAQ and MNet collectively decided to postpone and reschedule the meet and greet. It would happen at some point, we just did not know when. In the meantime, we were encouraged to buy up the CD and vie for position as ‘top buyer’ for some extra special love from the group during the meet & greet. I was determined to be one of those top buyers.

바람의나라 (The Kingdom of The Winds) – Final Thoughts of G.O’s Prince Hodong

Kingdom Leads

As I sit down to gather my final thoughts about the musical 바람의나라 (The Kingdom of The Winds), and in particular, G.O’s gentle nuanced performance, I truly do not know where to begin. Before I stepped into the theatre to watch it unfold real-time, I did a little background check of the story so I would have some idea going in.  Still, nothing could have prepared me for the powerful and emotional interpretation brought to the stage by the Seoul Arts Group or the tender, heart-wrenching performance by G.O in the role of Prince Hodong. G.O continues to shock and amaze me.

When Your Bias Walks Right By You and You Are Not Prepared

Friendly GO Fanservice

After I spent my birthday seeing G.O perform twice in one day, handing him a gift, “accompanying” him to his vehicle (yes, we are not going to call this following – we, his fans, were merely accompanying him to make sure he made it safely to his car – hehehe), and ultimately getting a warm, finger-threaded, palm-to-palm handshake good-bye, I wondered what my last day in Seoul would have in store for me. It seems that once I decided to be true to my fangirl heart and direct all of my energy to G.O, the gods of all things Byung Hee have allowed me many moments in his presence, enough now for him to recognize me. When your bias recognizes you, it elevates this fangirl thing to a whole new level.^^
