We all know how fiery and intense G.O is both on and off the stage. His intensity is one of my very favorite facets of his mercurial and mysterious nature. It must be a Scorpio thing. For as long as I can remember and perhaps comprehend the science of astrology, I have always been fascinated by Scorpios. Maybe it is because the sign itself sits directly opposite of my own on the Western astrological chart. It does not necessarily mean we are opposite in nature but in fact share many of the same attributes. But, I am getting offtrack here with the purpose of this post! For as intense as G.O may be, he seems to be equally gentle and pliant. And when that softness shines, it is best experienced in his warm smile. In the sub-series, The ABC’s of G.O, we are at the 13th letter of the alphabet. I choose to mix it up a little for today by using the romanization of the Korean word 미소 ~~>’miso’ or, smile.
Sometimes I find simple delight in the shortest and perhaps more obscure moments of MBLAQ’s (and specifically G.O’s) past. As I have mentioned before, one of the best parts of doing this countdown series to help pass the days of G.O’s military service has been being able to go back and dig into the MBLAQ archives to remember the fun, the music, and the moments. Today I am digging into the J-Files because I want to share a brief moment from September 2012 when G.O turned choreographer to help teach MBLAQ’s Baby U! choreography to the host of the Japanese show, Hallyu Factory.
Although I have not given them their just due here during this Countdown series, it is no secret that G.O possesses perhaps one of the loveliest pair of hands bestowed upon a human….ever. There has been much documentation about his very elegant and graceful hands. I may be in a groove with this series with its plethora of sub-categories already in place; but with 356 days remaining, there is always room for one more so I am adding G.O’s Graceful Hands to the mix because there is much proof documenting such and as is evident in this Countdown series (and blog generally), I have no problem praising him, even something as seemingly trivial as admiring his hands! But…they are beautiful.
I had to check the news archives for Sunday, 28 August 2011, because I was convinced there was some kind of seismic event or change in the atmosphere with the level of sexy that was exploding from the Guro Gyeonnggi Public Broadcast stage that day. I am usually not at a loss for words when I write about G.O, but for this lovely Friday . . . two days before G.O’s 30th birthday, and the 261st day of his service, I will simply let him mesmerize us with movement captured and edited with sweet precision by letsgoinho.
I have to be honest. At this time last year, I thought there was no way anyone in Korean entertainment (music, movies, drama or otherwise) was going to topple Rain from the throne in my fangirl kingdom. If you would have asked me if it this could ever happen, I would have unequivocally answered ‘No’! So please imagine my own shock when it actually did happen. And, it happened with a force and fury I was not even prepared for. I have been asked by a sweet follower of the blog who has now become a treasured friend, to expound on the how, the why and the when MBLAQ’s G.O swooped in, staked his claim as my one true bias, and yes, promptly stole me away from his former mentor, Rain. So Endang, dear…I write this post for you.♥
