야뇌 (Acoustic Version) – BMK [Warrior Baek Dong Soo OST]
I seriously do not know where to begin. This drama took me on such a ride, I simply was not prepared. There is so much to say about it, but since this is a postscript to my K-Shot post on Yoo Seung Ho, I am going to focus solely on the agonizingly conflicted Yeo Woon (Un). Gosh, the minute I say or think of his name, Un, I am filled with such incredible emotion. Yoo Seung Ho became Un – he wasn’t Yoo Seung Ho playing a character, no – he became the character he was cast to play. And it was amazing to watch unfold.
When Korean corporation Daewon Company partnered with Vietnam’s Thu Duc Housing Development Corporation, the Cantavil Premier Apartments were born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. New, modern, and high-tech, this new development offered a plethora of amenities if you chose to live in one of its exquisitely designed and architecturally harmonious apartments. Complete with a Lotte Modern Cineplex, the Cantavil Premier had it all. And they had one very famous world star to tell you all about it.
Rain just oozes style and class. So he was the perfect spokesperson for a new and classy housing development. He happens to be one architecturally harmonious human who wears a suit like it was born into creation and designed solely for him. See if you can catch that Yves Saint Laurent belt buckle. Hot.
Even as he languidly awakens in his loose-fitting loungewear, he makes it…
Tea is definitely a wildly popular beverage in Asia. Likewise, Rain is a wildly popular entertainer in Asia (and around the world). Ok, that sounds like another winning collaboration for an endorsement! And, what a delight to see a fit and serene Rain, dressed in white, going through his morning workout. Is it me or does he look absolutely sensational in white?
We see him stretching and bending and curling those weights – and then the pièce de résistance: he levitates in a very yogic-inspired pose. Well, that just had me squeeing with fangirl joy. I am a huge fan of yoga so when you throw Rain into that mix, it would pretty much be the equivalent of a narcotic!! Hey, don’t judge. We all have that point where we just go over the edge when it comes to Rain. He caps off the…
His very early endorsements just make me feel all warm and fuzzy probably because he exudes such pure energetic innocence. There is something so endearing and honest about him and that is something that is consistently present in all he does. There is no pretense with Rain. What you see is what you get. I admire that about him. That honesty is always present be it in his live stage performances or on the screen, CFs included. I refuse to believe he has it in him to fake the kind of fun he seems to have in these early commercial films!
In this early CF, however, that innocence I was talking about went right out the window. This here is kind of pushing the provocative envelope, if you ask me!! The only thing remotely innocent in this one…
Ok, you can just put a fork in me after this one because I am essentially done!! I stumbled upon this a couple of weeks ago and went a little mental on Twitter with a couple of Twitter friends about how incredibly wonderful this live version of the song was and how equally gorgeous all five of these men were looking in the video. It is so good for a few reasons.
First, the vocals. I know I sound like a broken record here but these incredible young men never fail to bring their A-game vocally and at times I feel are better live than in the studio. Usually it is the other way around – the magic of a soundboard is not necessary with these five. They each have a built-in soundboard that naturally synchronizes, equalizes and balances all the settings to produce vocal harmony. Yes, it’s pure unadulterated magic, I tell you. This is one of my absolute favorites.
Second, I don’t know what song they finished just prior to this one but apparently it was something which required some heavy duty dancing because all five of them are glistening with sweat. I am not going to go any further with that thought and just say, I like. I like a lot!
Third, I really appreciate how Jaejoong just lets loose emotionally when he sings. Reminds me a lot of Rain in that respect. You can sense that he is feeling what he is singing. I have noticed that about Jaejoong – there always seems to be a lot of emotion simmering beneath his performance.
Finally, Junsu. Shall I go on? His beautiful voice, his delivery, his gorgeous large hands (yes, I notice these things) and his smile. His adorable smile. Daebak!!
The smoldering gaze of Yoo Seung Ho can most definitely render a fangirl of any age weak in the knees. Partner that with maturity, poise, intelligence, and affable charm and he becomes downright lethal! In fact, he becomes a fangirl dream. When I watch Yoo Seung Ho, I always have to pause a moment to remind myself that he is all of twenty years old! Building his acting resume since the age of 7 and settling into that wickedly intense smolder by age 16, I could no longer deny his rightful place here as a worthy K-Shot of Hot.
The way these young men can bring the steady and harmonized vocals in their more upbeat and dance-oriented songs is wonderful. But, when it is ballad time, there is simply nothing sweeter. Each voice unique, each one having its rightful place, each one stellar on its own yet when combined with the other, a synergistic feast. So lovely.
In this offering I will have to honestly admit that Jaejoong and Changmin were working their vocal magic on me. And, Changmin’s soulful glances while singing kind of stirred a mini spaz in me and he is not even my bias. But I am not going to deny that he’s looking right cute in this video!! From their third studio album “O” – Jung.Ban.Hap., released in 2006, this TVXQ Tuesday song for you is One (not to be confused with Rain’s One – you knew I’d sneak him in somehow)!
Anyone else crushing a little on Changmin after this one??
DAEBAK!! I am so excited to be joining the Cloud USA team and look forward to letting the world know how much I admire, respect , support, and am inspired by the amazing Rain!
Being fairly new to the K-World, she’s having a great time seeing and hearing and absorbing new things, especially about the world star who has truly lit a fire under her—Rain. Not only did she fly in to support him at his Army discharge in Seoul, she also made some Cloud noise at the Arirang World Peace Festival in Washington D.C.
Please join us in welcoming her, and support her well as she eases into her new role.
I guess it is painfully obvious by now that I will never shy away from an opportunity to talk about Rain. It is also clear that he manages to show up in every post even when it is not about him! Yes, it’s true, I am a full blown Rain fangirl! Luckily, this post IS about him. When I posted Rain as my first K-Shot of Hot, I was in the process of watching his 2004 drama, Full House. At that time, I had no idea how the drama would play out but what I did see of it at the time of writing was enough to convince me that Rain’s Young Jae would make some kind of transformation. Now that I have long finished watching Full House, traveled to Seoul, and watched Rain walk through the West gate a fully discharged ROK Army sergeant, I am finally able to sit down and share my thoughts on his turn as bratty, loud, petulant, but eternally cute, Young Jae.
