Waiting For Donghun ~ Day 85

I don’t know about you, but I absolutely love coming across moments of my fave artists buried in pre-debut archives. Many of our fave artists have spent a lot more time working their way to stardom that we probably will ever know. If you have been following along this journey thus far, you will have discovered that pre-debut Donghun survived two music competition shows and in the coming days, we may even look at some of his early variety show appearances. But did you know he landed in a fifteen second CF (commercial film) for Korea’s ABC Mart? Neither did I!!! And it is this little pre-debut nugget I share today.

It is an undisputed fact that Rain loves food. If we weren’t sure, we certainly got confirmation during the first episode of his reality show, The Rain Effect where food was basically a part of the supporting cast! I LOVE that he loves food, seems to think about it often, and goes to great lengths to find something delicious to satisfy his palate.

This love of cuisine translates perfectly to the various commercial films he has made throughout the early part of his career that endorsed some kind of food or beverage product. He always seems so delighted to promote food!

Kyochon Chicken is one of the largest Korean fried chicken chain restaurants in South Korea and even has locations in the US. This must be some serious chicken. ^.^

And for Rain’s part in the endorsement, I am truly amused by the dichotomy…

I used to think that it was kind of a sell out when celebrities both in the entertainment and sports worlds would lend their image to a specific product – otherwise known as the ‘endorsement.’    It is clearly a win-win situation for both the endorser and endorsee  – I get it!  It’s a true moneymaker for both as well as exposure.  But I have to tell you, when I saw the kinds of endorsements coming out of Asia, I had to pause and say to myself….maybe this endorsement thing is not such a bad gig, especially when Rain is attached to the product.

In my ever-growing quest to know all there is about Rain I would be remiss and certainly selling myself short if I didn’t have a look at his endorsements.  And with his recent activity for Mentholatum and upcoming appearance…
