I talk to trees, live with two feline familiars, study tarot and astrology, watch Asian dramas, and listen to lots of K-pop. Random acts of kindness are my jam.
Tea is definitely a wildly popular beverage in Asia. Likewise, Rain is a wildly popular entertainer in Asia (and around the world). Ok, that sounds like another winning collaboration for an endorsement! And, what a delight to see a fit and serene Rain, dressed in white, going through his morning workout. Is it me or does he look absolutely sensational in white?
We see him stretching and bending and curling those weights – and then the pièce de résistance: he levitates in a very yogic-inspired pose. Well, that just had me squeeing with fangirl joy. I am a huge fan of yoga so when you throw Rain into that mix, it would pretty much be the equivalent of a narcotic!! Hey, don’t judge. We all have that point where we just go over the edge when it comes to Rain. He caps off the…
His very early endorsements just make me feel all warm and fuzzy probably because he exudes such pure energetic innocence. There is something so endearing and honest about him and that is something that is consistently present in all he does. There is no pretense with Rain. What you see is what you get. I admire that about him. That honesty is always present be it in his live stage performances or on the screen, CFs included. I refuse to believe he has it in him to fake the kind of fun he seems to have in these early commercial films!
In this early CF, however, that innocence I was talking about went right out the window. This here is kind of pushing the provocative envelope, if you ask me!! The only thing remotely innocent in this one…
When I first started to explore TVXQ, I kept coming across information that the group performed quite a bit a cappella-style in its early days. It is interesting that the word itself, an Italian word, means “in the manner of the church” or “in the manner of a chapel.” You know, sacred music. Music that is generally unaccompanied by any musical instruments. The only instrument used is the voice. For a pop band to come blazing out singing without instruments is pretty ballsy. But someone knew what they were doing because TVXQ takes you to church with this song.
In the pop world today, and specifically here in the US, I think you would be hard-pressed to find a singer or group that could go au naturel. In this day and age of auto tune and the likes, many singers have to rely on electronic cosmetics to make the finished product listenable. I know there are many excellent singers out there, Josh Groban, for example, that could sing without musical accompaniment. But these true vocal phenoms are few and far between.
Then there are Yunho, Changmin, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu, five beautifully tuned musical instruments. When I listen to Whatever They Say, I am once again reminded why there are so many of us out here in fanland who would sell our first borns to see these 5 amazing singers reunite and regale us once again with their incredible and synergistic vocals. When Jaejoong hits those high notes at around the 2:44 mark in this one, it sends chills down my spine. Each one of their voices has an intonation and mellifluous quality all of its own and this song showcases each one of them beautifully individually, and when together, magnificently. So very, very lovely.
In my opinion, this is brilliant. Was there really any question who would be best able to endorse a product that, well, generates heat?
Rain is the very definition (and essence) of hot so signing him on to endorse Rinnai Heating Systems was, on one hand, a no brainer, and on the other, another display of sheer marketing genius!
When I watched this ad, I was convinced the advertising team was made up solely of women!! Let’s look at the evidence.
First, Rain walking with shirt open, the warm breeze on his skin. Second, Rain casually sitting in his apartment as if he were inviting you in for a glass of wine. (Yes, my imagination goes a bit wild sometimes when I watch him.) Finally (and most importantly), Rain shirtless. Rain shirtless taking a shower. I repeat, Rain shirtless taking a shower. Yep, there must…
Imagine you are all of about 19 or 20 years old and have just spent the better part of your teenage years hungry, and hungry on several different levels. Now imagine your manager comes up to you one day early in your career and asks, “Are you interested in doing a CF where you will probably have to eat ice cream all day?” I am sure a very young and eager Rain did not hesitate in the least bit when answering that question and jumped right into endorsing Binggrae Ice Cream. Oh my gosh….are you ready for some absolute adorably cute Rain???
When I watched this CF my heart just burst with happiness. Young, fresh and eager, I felt like Rain was calling out to me to join him for some ice cream on a hot summer day. He has a natural and honest…
Bless KB Financial for having the vision of letting Rain endorse their KB Star Card – sincerely and truly, bless you, KB Financial! In this second installment, I’d like to visit 2 more CFs Rain gave us for KB Star Card. As in the previous two, I guarantee you will see why Rain’s vast appeal truly does set him apart from other performers, Asian or otherwise – and why I continue to believe that no matter what the project, he approaches each with commitment, dedication, focus and fun!
In this fresh California skater-inspired spot, Rain throws on his magic t-shirt and bounces through the byways of Pomona, California. Pomona, California? Huh? I first thought it could be Hermosa Beach because it looked familiar to me, as I lived in that area at one time. But, the street signs visible during a portion of this…
It is an ongoing delight to watch Rain endorse a product, isn’t it?
He truly does bring his very own special charm and style of promotion, regardless of product or concept. Perhaps it is because, as an entertainer, he has to be a bit of a self-promoter himself in what is a very competitive business: show business. Maybe this gives him an edge as he truly understands the power of promotion and the necessity to be both honest and effective. Think about it. When Rain endorses something, he is not selling himself per se, but he is attaching himself to a product, goods, or service so he does have a certain responsibility as a representative of what he is endorsing. I’m guessing Rain most probably knows this and that is why he approaches each project with respect and dedication. In fact, these are two…
Sexy.Hot.Sexy.Hot.Sexy.Hot. That is the best way to describe this performance of Purple Line. I wanted to get up and dance but I could not peel my eyes away from the hotness unfolding on my screen. Inasmuch as I think Yoochun looks fabulous with short hair….this long hair in the ponytail look was making me scream!!! I think this is the most fluid I have seen Changmin move while dancing – just discovered here that not only does he have hips, he can move them! And there is so much movement going on this number and STILL they are able to sing effortlessly. These five guys never fail to impress me.
I love the funky dance feel to this one and I love the way they all dance here – they really seem to be feeling the beat, the rhythm and the energy of the crowd. And don’t they all look so freaking spectacular in silver and white??? All five so handsome. I have noticed that with each of my Tuesday posts one of them tends to jump out at me (if they can manage to take my attention off of Junsu….and he is sofine in this one) and surprisingly, Yunho was able to divert me a little here. He is looking pretty hot and I like the way he moves -they all actually rock the dancing pretty well in this one, Changmin surprising me the most.
From the up through the floor entrance to the final pose, this one is just plain HOT.
This really turned out to be a super delicious Sunday!!♥♥
My world just collided beautifully! Seriously, how can I sleep in peace everyday now knowing there are more of these out there in net world? Woke up this morning and was presented by Michele of Your Daily K-Shot of Hot this grand CF and my cherry popped right away! You can’t ask for more when Rain and Seung Ho are in the same commercials showing us some of their daebak actions! It feels so surreal having to see them up close and be in the own real skin. This is a 2011 commercial for Adidas for winter workout. For all I know, the workout gear shown mostly at the beginning of 5 seconds and the rest mainly focusing on the actors being comfortable in their workout gear and moves!
*giggles* *blushes*… so you can see Seung Ho looks a tad younger but I think he showed us a few…
I feel like this is a celestial event. You know, the kind of thing that happens every 5000 years or something!! I just finished up and posted Yoo Seung Ho as my latest K-Shot, as you know, and Rain awhile ago. I knew when I decided to blog about the delicious men of the K-entertainment world that the amount of information out there would be so vast and wide, it would be next to impossible to find ALL of it, and indeed impossible to include in a single post. Hence, the K-Shot Postcript. My dear friend and fellow blogger, Stephe at Cloud USA and over at stephethornton.com has been a wonderful supporter of all I do over here (so much so she offered me a position on the Cloud USA staff as a writer) so I have her to thank for thunking me over the head with this one. Sinew and smolder collide when Rain and Yoo Seung Ho meet in the gym for Adidas. Oh yes this makes me very happy!! 🙂 Thank you, Stephe!!
