The Soulful Countdown to G.O’s Discharge ~ Day 120

It’s Thursday in Seoul so why not a little throwback moment? Looking back on this November 2009 Elle Girl photo shoot and magazine spread, I cannot help but feel the early excitement the men of MBLAQ were experiencing as full on promotions really began to unfold following their debut.

I am ready to throw down the Throwback Thursday gauntlet and begin the debate. I am ready (and willing) to argue with anyone that the keeper of smolder for the MBLAQ photos contained in this particular edition of Elle Girl Korea was G.O, followed closely by his 87-Line big brother, Seung Ho.

There was absolutely nothing soft and flower boy about this campaign and, in my opinion, it thrust MBLAQ into the pop arena with one very strong message: We are not your big sister’s K-pop boy band. We are men who will sing you straight out of adolescence.

There was something about this campaign that had ‘bad boy’ written all over it. Bad boys with hearts of gold, soft eyes and ferocious magnetism, that is.

And to think, it was only the beginning . . .

There was a fierceness, an inner fire that G.O. I think displayed well in the early MBLAQ days. Smoldering gaze — ON! LOL
